This news comes with mixed feelings as we announce the retirement of one of our employees. Cindy Goure has been our Pueblo/Southern Regional Manager for the last five years and has been with the State of Colorado for 33 years. She has decided that the time has come to retire and June 30, 2016 will be her last day.
"I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to work for the State of Colorado and particularly the Department of Personnel & Administration and the Division of Central Services. I have been given so many opportunities to develop both professionally and personally. It has been challenging and rewarding these past 33 years," said Goure.
Prior to coming to the State, Cindy worked for the Colorado and Wyoming Railroad for 10 years. Cindy began in 1983 as a Data Entry Operator, moving up to the Data Entry Supervisor from 1988-1997, then into IT and general professional positions through 2010, where she then took on her current role as the Southern Regional Manager for the IDS Pueblo facility.

Scanning of the State of Colorado Constitution in 2013
|
Cindy has worked on various high profile projects that have helped IDS grow over the years such as the scanning of the entire State Constitution in 2013, which was a collaborated effort with State Archives and the Colorado Supreme Court Library. Another was the new partnership with the Department of Revenue (DOR) and the successful rollout of a new system and the scanning of business tax in 2014 as well as the 2014 DOR/DPA Tax Pipeline LEAN project, and the new partnership with the Secretary of State's Office and scanning of candidate petitions.
Although Cindy will truly miss the day-to-day challenges, she will miss the people the most.
"I have formed lasting and forever friendships with both my Pueblo and Denver families. I want to thank each and every one of you for making my career here so incredible and fun," said Goure. She is looking forward to her retirement and seeing what the next chapter brings. "I wish you all the best in the future and continue doing what we do best for the State of Colorado and its citizens."
Cindy has led her team through many challenges and has trained them to tackle anything that comes their way. With seeing their sense of drive and determination over the years under her leadership, they will have no problem continuing on the same path with finding better ways to serve our customers.
"Working with Cindy has been an honor. Her leadership, her vision, and her insight into customers' needs have not only allowed IDS to grow but she has positioned the business to be able to support customers long into the future," said Bill Taylor, Deputy Division Director of the Division of Central Services. "Because of this, Cindy's legacy will carry on and IDS will continue to thrive, meeting and exceeding customers' expectations long into the future."
