Caissa's 2nd Annual Golf Series got underway last week! Thank you Cami Peterson, Jon Schindel and Jonathan Fogel for shaking the dust of the clubs with me. The dust on my clubs was a bit thicker than most but the point is I am getting back out there after a multi-year hiatus. Let's just say, it's not like riding a bike and my swing has taken a form of its own that will only get better when I hire a coach to assist me. There are so many intricate steps in a golf swing that can take a beautiful drive and turn it into a worm-burner just because your club face was tilted a few degrees off. As we all know, it's also a head game. If we hit that first tee over confident or with no confidence, then we usually don't see the ball land perfectly in the fairway. Right now, my golf swing is quite stale and it's a leap of faith that the ball will go in the direction of the tiny little flag hundreds of yards away. Since this is only working about half of the time, I am enlisting a golf instructor to help me find consistent results which will give me confidence and allow me to enjoy the game a little more.
Not unlike golf, our clients have enlisted us to manage their investments so that their portfolios grow in the right direction and they can have confidence of their outcomes. We consistently keep our eye on the ball and are always working on our "swings" so that our clients' retirement plan never sits on the sidelines and gets stale - like my golf swing. Yo-Yo Fed on raising interest rates. Why?
As of 14 days ago, the odds were fairly high that June would see a rate hike but came crashing down after the jobs report. The odds of raising rates have been a yo-yo for all of 2016 so it begs the question: what drives this decision?

The state of Minnesota is one of only a handful of states that is aggressively acting on this. In the spring of 2016 a bill passed that will allow a person to grant powers to a personal representative through a will or power of attorney document to allow access to their digital assets at death. Many who support this are trying to get this law uniformly passed across the country
