Preparing now for future economic growth!

** Did you know that 88% of natural gas consumption in Chester County is used by local industry--not residential and commercial customers?

Even though Chester County, the Southeast and almost the entire United States experienced a warmer than normal winter (which significantly reduced residential and commercial natural gas sales), industrial gas sales in Chester County were up for the same period because of  new industries in our county.

During a recent Chester Development Association meeting, Chamber member Mike Enoch, General Manager of Chester County Natural Gas Authority and the incoming chair of the CDA, previewed a presentation he will be giving later this month to our county leaders and elected officials.

The presentation consists of two parts - an update on Chester County Natural Gas Authority and an update on the immediate goals for the CDA in accordance with Chester County's Economic Development Strategic Plan.

During the second part of the presentation, Mr. Enoch pointed out many key factors that our officials should consider now (issues related to infrastructure, zoning, taxes, etc.) as they plan for our county's future--issues that will impact business owners/operators and residents alike.

The Chamber applauds Mr. Enoch for being a liaison between the business community and local officials.  Both Mr. Enoch and Chester County Economic Development Director Karlisa Parker have offered to share this presentation, as well as additional data, with Chamber members.  In the coming months we will schedule this important session and send out registration information.
Thank you--Brooke Clinton
