Medical Interpreting Immersion

Description:  This intensive and highly interactive  four-day  workshop will offer attendees the opportunity to dive into the specialized arena of healthcare interpreting. W e will explore  equivalent translations of  topics  common in health care, with an emphasis on appropriate classifier use and navigating tricky terminology. Attendees will evaluate  ethical decision-making considerations for effective healthcare interpreting and leave with ideas about how to elevate their provision of interpreting services in health care to the next level, for the benefit of all participants in future healthcare encounters.

Cost: $250

Who should register:  Deaf interpreters and hearing interpreters with state credentials or national certification and some knowledge of medical interpreting. All participants must have at least three years of general interpreting experience. Priority will be given to those from the NURIEC region.
