Foundation Board Chair Speaks to the Importance of Investing Locally

Bob Brack was looking to increase his community involvement despite his busy schedule, when he got a call from a friend to join the Foundation for MetroWest Board of Trustees.
"I served on the Board at MetroWest Medical Center with Pat Poitras, a founding member of the Foundation for MetroWest," said Brack. "She gave me a call one day asking if I would be interested in joining the Foundation for MetroWest Board. At the time, I was very busy, running a company with 12 locations and over 500 employees. I met with the Executive Director and realized that despite my schedule, I could increase my philanthropic involvement in my community by joining the Foundation's Board." CONTINUE READING>

MetroWest Hunger Relief Fund Distributes $87K to Local Food Pantries
 The Foundation for MetroWest recently distributed $87,000 to 49 local food pantries in 29 MetroWest cities and towns through the MetroWest Hunger Relief Fund.
Recognizing that the greatest need for donations often falls during the summer months, we changed the timing of this important community initiative. With the help of Foundation donors and fundholders, we were able to have a greater impact this year, ensuring that our community food pantries were able to help our most vulnerable neighbors.

Annual Turkey Trot Partners with The Fund for Wellesley
The Fund for Wellesley, and Endowed Fund of the Foundation for MetroWest, is excited to announce its 2014 Turkey Trot.
Race Director Carol Chaoui reached out to The Fund for Wellesley last winter, as she was seeking to partner with a local nonprofit. She was looking to combine her love of running and philanthropy, and thought this would be the perfect partnership with the potential for the race to be the Fund's signature event and part of Wellesley's Thanksgiving Day tradition for generations to come. The Fund is excited to announce that Carol has now also joined their Community Board!
