Roadside Safety Reminders

Road construction can cause delays, but don't try to hurry through a work zone. Even if workers aren't on site, work zone speed limits are in place AT ALL TIMES by state law. This is for the safety of drivers as well as the workers. Work zones have changing conditions, shifting or narrowing lanes, equipment and other potential hazards to motorists that are going too fast or not paying attention. On average, there are more than 4,300 work zone motor vehicle crashes annually in Illinois, with more than 1,000 resulting in injuries.   LCDOT workers share a few safety tips and ask for your help to make sure everyone gets home safely at the end of the day.

The MHS Mustang Football players are selling the cards at an incredible price of only 3/$20.00! Each card has different businesses on them, and they can be used every day (except where noted), and are good until July, 2016! This is a great way to not only support the football team, but the Mundelein community as well!

Don't have a favorite player to buy a card from? No worries, look for football players to sell cards during the afternoon/evening and weekends at: The Ace Hardware Store, the 3 Walgreen locations, O Salon (by Super Target), Buffalo Wild Wings, Wings-Stop, and Quick-Pics.

You can find a complete listing of the businesses and the discounts at www.mhsmustangsfootball.wordpress.com

Recycle Sheets, Blankets, Towels, Shoes, Eyeglasses
If you have used towels, sheets or blankets that need to be recycled, please consider bringing them to Fremont Township at 22385 Rt 60, Mundelein to be donated to local Animal Shelters and Rescues.  Please drop them in the bin on the front porch. This keeps them out of the landfill and puts them to good use.

We also accept eye glasses and shoes to be recycled year round.  If you are disposing of shoes that have laces, please tie the laces together. Thanks to our residents, we recycled 1240 pairs of shoes in the last twelve months!
