Young Leaders Wanted!
KCCD's Youth Leadership Academy Program (YLAP) is designed to cultivate young leaders who are interested in civic engagement, public-private partnerships, and being a social justice advocate for the community.

Young leaders will have a unique opportunity to be mentored and trained by KCCD President and CEO Hyepin Im, government officials, and community leaders through a ten-week program to develop a variety of skills enhancing their leadership capabilities.

  • Career Guidance and Mentoring
  • Grant Writing & Fundraising
  • Networking & Building Partnerships
  • Media, Government, and Public Relations 
  • Outreach/Marketing
  • Eventing
  • Research and Data Regarding Community Needs of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community
  • Program Development
  • Public Speaking/Advocacy
  • Financial Literacy/Money Management
  • Leveraging the Church Power Base for Partnerships
Program Guidelines
    1. Must be between the ages of 16-26
    2. Choose YLAP Package* (Special price for Youth Leaders) 
      • Leadership Training + Retreat Package - $200
      • Leadership Training Package only - $100
        (Scholarship is available now) 
    3. Fill out application form
    4. Internship period: 10 weeks 
    5. The Leadership Training Academy sessions will be held once a week.
*Package pricing has already been subsidized by KCCD.
