WriteAway Update
Summer 2016

WriteAway: New Institutions Welcome!

WriteAway supports undergraduate writers across British Columbia. In the past year, students from 15 polytechnic institutes, regional universities, rural and urban colleges, and research universities have received feedback on more than 3,000 assignments.

Members of WriteAway's collaborative consortia can extend their existing in-house writing services by offering students access to an average of 75 weekly online tutoring hours. Participating in WriteAway also saves institutions significant time and money: the WriteAway Administration Centre provides training, evaluation, and support for institutional coordinators and tutors, while consortia-licensing of the eTutoring platform software allows members to save between 66-86% of the cost of individually licensing online tutoring software.

Now is a great time to join WriteAway! For more information, please contact [email protected]

  • "Amazing! [The tutor] was extremely helpful! His feedback and tips were very useful. I will definitely use this service in the future. Thanks!" (Douglas College Learner)
  • "It was encouraging and helpful. I wanna come back for more!" (Langara College Learner)

Funding Received for 2016/17

WriteAway has received funding for the 2016/17 year from the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre. As WriteAway moves towards becoming a self-sustaining service through partner institution support, this funding is essential to ensure the service runs without interruption.
