Active Aging Week 2014 September 21 - 27

Let the Adventure Begin

Led by the International Council on Aging, Active Aging Week is an observance celebrating adults ages 50 and older as fully participating members of society and promotes the benefits of leading an active, healthier lifestyle.

Bronxville's celebration of Active Aging Week is the second annual Salute to Seniors to be held on Saturday, September 27.  This day long celebration of our older neighbors is co-sponsored by the Senior Citizens Council, the Village of Bronxville, New York Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital and Gramatan Village.  The festivities will begin at 10 AM on the lawn of the Bronxville High School.  Informational tables will be along Pondfield Road and many local businesses will be offering discounts and specials for seniors.

Gramatan Village is here to make life easier and more enjoyable.

Earlier this month our members joined new friends from At Home on the Sound and visited the Brooklyn Museum. After a docent led tour of the outstanding exhibit of contemporary Chinese artist, Ai Weiwei, we had the opportunity to explore the other treasures the Brooklyn Museum offers.

Early next month we will be off to the New York Historical Society for the exhibit, "Madeline in New York: The Art of Ludwig Bemelmans".  Our members are in for a treat!  Here is a recent review that appeared in the New York Times:

Our program committee will be busy next month planning events for the rest of the year.  We need your ideas!  Give us a call or email us at:
