SWOT - No, not mosquitoes
...Strategic Planning!
For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. ~Jeremiah 29
Greetings Friends!
This Summer your Church Council will be busy thinking about Hosanna's FUTURE; a future filled with promise and possibility! We need you to be part of this process. Whether you are a long time member, a new member, a frequent visitor and friend, people of all ages... we NEED your help, the vision to live and love and serve will not be complete without YOU! The week of June 20
th there will be 4 opportunities for you to contribute. The
SWOT** analysis tool will be used to facilitate these discussions. Each meeting time will last about an hour.
Click HERE to register online, call the church office or sign up this Sunday after worship.
There is a biblical foundation for strategic planning. By principle and by example, God's Word establishes strategic planning as one of the ways God works in and through God's people. There are a number of leaders in Scripture who thought and acted strategically.
- In the Old Testament Jethro taught Moses how to set up a strategic plan by delegating the work so that the load would be spread among many. As a result, the manpower resources were used more effectively and the ministry was accomplished. David was a strategic thinker from boyhood. He did not defeat Goliath with his might or strong armor. He defeated Goliath using a God-given strategy that pinpointed the weakness of his enemy.
- What about the New Testament? We can point to Jesus Christ as a great example of one who had a strategy. He began by recruiting His leadership, developing them, then sending them "to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1). His strategy included some public teaching and miracle working. Ultimately, His strategy took Him all the way to the cross, the grave, and the resurrection.
- The apostle Paul, a key player in establishing the early church, had a strategy. It is obvious in reading the accounts of his missionary journeys that Paul chose key cities in which to establish strongholds for ministry. He chose cities where he might have the greatest influence on the largest number of people.
Strategic planning is not only a biblical concept, it is a biblical mandate. It is God's chosen method of working to carry out the Great Commission:
"Go and make disciples of all people..." (Mt28). Let's get this done- TOGETHER!!
See you in Church at Lakeside Park in Downtown Forest Lake!

In case of inclement weather we return to Hosanna to worship in the Garden Chapel. Unsure? Check out our Facebook page or website after 8am on Sundays.
**What is SWOT? It's an analysis tool that asks:
S - What are our
STRENGTHS? What assets do we possess? What needs are we meeting? We are incredible at...
W - What are our
WEAKNESSES? Do we have any liabilities? Are there some obvious needs that we are not meeting?
O - What are our
OPPORTUNITIES? Are we positioned to take on new challenges? What resources are underused?
T - What are our
THREATS? What roadblocks or obstacles exist? Does anything cause us to be afraid?
