Rev. Beau Sullivan Accepts Permanent Position at EPCL
It was announced during the worship service on November 23 that the Session of EPCL offered the Reverend Beau Sullivan the full time position of Assistant Pastor of Congregational Life.  For over a year Pastor Beau has served as Interim Associate Pastor at EPCL.  During this time his love for Christ and people was unmistakable.  His ministry has been one of faithfulness, kindness and steadfastness as he has served all of our faith family through his pastoral care, preaching, teaching and more.   The deep love and abiding appreciation the congregation has sensed from him, and feels for him, was evident in the spontaneous standing ovation he received from the congregation when they heard the news.
Pastor Beau has been given the title of "Assistant Pastor" because he was hired by the Session.  "Associate Pastors" are called by the congregation.  Also he is not required to seek EPC ordination.
We look forward to the entire Sullivan family moving to Longview sometime in the spring/early summer depending on housing markets in Fort Worth.  Please continue to send warm welcomes to him, Mariana, Christian and Daniel, and pray for them during this time of transition.

EPCL Calls Lead Pastor
The Reverend Doug Ashley was unanimously elected to serve as Lead Pastor on Sunday, Nov. 16, at a congregational meeting. Several people commented on the palpable presence of the Holy Spirit among us as we worshipped the Living God in both the Sunday morning worship service and the congregational meeting which followed.   Through prayers, hymns, spiritual songs and the preaching of God's Word by Rev. Ashley, the Lord was sought and, we believe, glorified throughout the morning.

Boys & Girls Clubs Christmas Party
Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 4 pm: EPC volunteers and friends (i.e. The "Wednesday Warriors" as we have been dubbed)  will host a Christmas Party at the Boys' & Girls' Club - on Garfield St..  This wild and crazy celebration will include 160 kindergarten through third graders and will last no longer than 1 1/2 or 2 hours.  We need LOTS of help--cookie donations, hot chocolate makers and servers, crafts, story readers, game players, gift wrappers, and song leaders.  Contact Sandra Skoog [email protected]  if you are available to help.
Volunteer Opportunities for Ware
  • Book Fair at Ware  - December 8 - 12
We only  have openings for Thursday and Friday mornings, Dec. 11-12. Contact Terrye at [email protected] if you are available.
  • Ware Faculty Christmas Luncheon - Wed., Dec. 17
Our seasonal thank-you to the faculty at Ware.
will be on Wednesday, December 17.  We are catering Papacita's so I will need volunteers to bring crockpots of Queso and desserts. (Diana McMahon is bringing Mexican wedding cookies!)  We are feeding 70 starting at 10:30 and finishing about 1:30.  We will be serving the staff ourselves, so I will also need servers. If you can't help on this day but still want to contribute in some way, I know any monetary donation to help out with the cost of the lunch would be greatly appreciated. :-)              Thank you ALL,  Terrye
