This Sunday we meet God in Scripture which speaks of reconciliation.  We hear about Christ's ministry on earth as a ministry of reconciliation, of reconnecting us to God and to one another.  This connection is broken through sin, but God calls us back into relationship again and again. We are invited to be part of this reconciling work in the world, as we're called to be "ambassadors for Christ," sharing the Good News of the New Creation in Christ!

We continue to hold the community in Orlando in our prayers. For more on the ELCA response to this staggering senseless tragedy, refer to a letter from our North Carolina Synod Bishop here, and our ELCA Presiding Bishop here

Let's make some noise!  This Sunday we will be collecting our noisy offering to support the efforts of  the
Calvary Food Pantry

On average 124 families  (403 individuals) are served by  the Calvary Food Pantry .
This number continues to rise. Nativity's collection of food and Nativity's giving of time is greatly appreciated but the need for funds to buy items that aren't donated is great.  Please bring your change for our over-and-above giving to the
Calvary Food Pantry.

See who's celebrating
in June!

Thanks go to the "Ringing Chicks" of Nativity for their gifts of
time, talent,  and commitment to our  handbell choir this year.
These five lovely ladies practiced on Tuesday evenings and served the music ministry offering preludes, descants, and special music for  Sunday  morning,
 Maundy
Thursday and other special worship  services throughout the year.

We are on our summer hiatus now but when the cool winds of autumn return we will return to rehearsals and hope that you will consider joining us!

This past  Sunday  our small but mighty ringers played 3-octaves of handbells - 37 bells!  Normally, a handbell choir would need 11 folks to play 3 octaves of handbells.  Nativity actually owns 5 octaves of handbells - 61 bells (or 14 people).  Cantor Karen hopes over the summer you will prayerfully consider joining our forces this fall.  We do not want to waste these beautiful musical instruments and leave them in their cases when they can add so much to our worship experience.  If you've played before but are a little rusty, if you've never rung before but can read music, or  if you've never rung - don't read music - but are just curious, please consider joining our team. It's as easy as riding a bicycle - no really, your arms simply make a motion of riding a bicycle - only backwards.  At the end of August we'll plan a refresher, renewal, learn how to do it retreat.  Adults and high schoolers are welcome!
