We will be exploring New Hampshire waterways: rivers, lakes and oceans.  Throughout the week, we will ride the wave of various bible stories such as Noah; Jonah and the Whale; the Baptism of Jesus; the Woman at the Well; and Jesus catching some fish.  Each day, we will immerse ourselves in the message of these stories.  Our mornings will be flooded with songs, crafts and games.  In the afternoons we will embrace the story in unique ways that allows these stories to float in our daily lives.  We will venture on local field trips such as the Baptismal Font, Amoskeag Fishways and the Water Project.

Purpose of the Petition

Faith and Spiritual Communities Climate Commitment Petition is on the Environment Stewardship bulletin board. The purpose of the petition is to express the moral and spiritual imperative of members of New Hampshire faith communities that restorative, just, and sustainable solutions should be implemented to protect people and the natural world from the potentially catastrophic effects of climate change.

THANK YOU for the wonderful celebration on Sunday, June 12 th and the generous check. I couldn't have asked for more. The Chancel Choir version of "Any Dream Will Do" was amazing! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

One Book, One Conference
Waking Up White
by Debby Irving

Sponsored by the Racial Justice Mission Group of the NH Conference

South Church will be joining the newly formed Racial Justice Mission Group of the NH Conference and other local churches in the NH Conference in a time of Awakening, by reading and discussing Debby Irving's book Waking Up White, Cambridge, MA: Elephant Room Press, 2014.

From the Mission Group invitation: "As people of faith and followers of Jesus, we have a responsibility to awaken our understanding of systems of power and privilege and to use our power and privilege to change unjust systems. Imagine "waking up" all over the state of NH in UCC churches this summer, as we read Debby Irving's story together and begin to understand our own. Wider church opportunities will be offered in the fall as we look at moving from a time of Awakening to a time of Action."

Please join Jed and Carlos in our summer reading and awakening.  Two separate discussions have been scheduled for: Wednesday, July 20 at noon, come from work or home, feel free to bring a bagged lunch. Also
Wednesday, August 17th at 6pm.
If you are interested please contact Jed or Carlos.

Kids4Peace Interfaith Day Camp
is excited to invite you to take part in our Interfaith Day Camp this summer!  During a time of increased violence and political unrest around the world, Kids4Peace strives to empower youth to take a stand and learn to navigate the world in a way that makes real and lasting change locally, nationally, and internationally.  In joining us this summer, campers will have the opportunity to learn about Judaism, Christianity, and Islam; have a chance to visit Houses of Worship from all three faith traditions; and learn skills that help them to be life-long peacebuilders.  In exploring these topics, we both learn about and experience what it means to make faith-based social change around the world!
When: July 2 5th - 28th
Who: 7th grade youth (in the 2016-2017 school year)
Where: Various Locations in Concord, NH
More details and an online application are available at  www.k4p.org/summer2016. For more information, please contact Jeff Mandell, Camp Director, at jeff@k4p.org.
