President's Message

A college education pays dividends for life. It opens the door to a better job, a greater sense of personal accomplishment, and helps build stronger communities.

Many potential students, however, face any number of obstacles to getting the education and skills training necessary that would improve their quality of life.

Removing those obstacles and smoothing the pathway is a major initiative for Nicolet College. This commitment starts with the admissions process and carries all the way through to how, when, and where classes are held.

To make the enrollment process more efficient and convenient, Nicolet is holding a Quick Start event June 21 where prospective students will be able to complete every step of the process in one location. For many, it takes about an hour.

This fall Nicolet will continue to expand flexible course offerings to include a part-time Nursing program and an evening Welding program.

These two additions join a long list of other higher education options available at Nicolet geared specifically to individuals who cannot attend traditional daytime classes due to any number of other responsibilities.

It's also long been recognized that distance away from Nicolet's main campus just south of Rhinelander is a formidable barrier for many. To help, Nicolet will continue to take college closer to them, holding classes over high-tech TelePresence and Interactive Television networks in Minocqua, Eagle River, and Tomahawk.

Day in and day out, we continue to work on new ways to remove barriers and expand access in order to make college a reality for everyone who wants such an education.
