Happy Independence Day
Wishing you
and your family
a happy and safe 4th of July!
I'M SO EXCITED!!!

The Morgantown Bridge is OPEN!
It's been the most inconvenient past 7 weeks with lost tourists, terrible detours, and eerily quiet days in and around town.  I hate to think what the detours have done to my car.  So happy to be back to my short, sweet commute to the shop.  You cannot imagine!  Anyway, I just wanted to let you know the main artery between Morgantown and Nashville (Brown County) is open and welcoming you to our great little towns!

Morgantown Bridge Opens a Month Early!
Sorry, I couldn't contain myself.  Now back to business.  Here's a quick overview of what is going on at Jeepers in the upcoming weeks.   Space is still available in several quick and easy classes as well as the Book Store.  More details on all below.  I still have several dollhouse floor models and displays available for sale at great prices.  I've nearly completed my prototype for a "Steampunk" workshop and will open registration soon.  Sneak peek follows.  I'm waiting on details for a workshop to be presented by a guest artisan in October.  Watch for next month's newsletter for details!   Space is still available for students interested in learning more about LEDs and other dollhouse electrical options.  Be sure to make note of another wedding weekend that Jeepers will be closed (I really apologize for any inconvenience).
I've got several easy, but inspiring classes going on over the next couple months in the shop.  These are a great opportunity to bring along a friend, sister, brother, son, daughter, etc., to share your passion and enthusiasm for miniatures.   Each class takes little more than an hour actually and is a great opportunity to relax and just have fun!  The classes are described in detail on the website (click images below to visit the pages) and I have examples of the items on display in the shop.  The classes include the following:
  • Groceries in Shopping Bag
  • Wagon with Toys
  • Shelf Class
  • Braided Rug
  • Books with Bookends

By the way, if you have wanted to take any of the classes or workshops I've offered in the past, but couldn't attend, get together a friend or 2 or 3 or ... and let's put together a repeat.  Contact me if interested via email.
If you haven't figured it out by now, I am very impressed with the work and direction in miniature lighting that Carl Sahlberg of Creative Reproductions 2 Scale has taken.  His product line and ideas are breathing new life into dollhouses and roomboxes.  Jeepers is hosting an opportunity for you to learn more about LEDs, create a couple fun projects, and discover ways to add more interest to your miniature settings.  Want to add a working ceiling fan, but are afraid to do so?  Here's a great opportunity to get over that fear.  Carl's LED workshop is really just around the corner, so don't wait.  Sign up now and learn more about the direction of miniature lighting.
The Book Store is a great little workshop especially for someone who has been out of touch and needs a miniature reboot or someone who is just getting started.  We will completely finish the interior and exterior of a roombox with paint, wallcoverings, and flooring, build one bookcase, make another accessory or two, and create a series of books using different methods to help get you started filling your little shop.  Don't want a bookstore?  How about your own miniature neighborhood library?  Add more shelves, maybe a desk or table, an overstuffed chair...you get the picture!  The whole idea is to get you creating and having fun with like-minded miniaturists.   Click here
to register or for more details on this two-day workshop.

A few of the floor models currently available for purchase at reduced prices include:

  • Simplicity (the house with the gazebo)
  • Contemporary
  • Rye (craftsman style dollhouse)
  • Victorian Cottage Jr.
  • Apple Blossom
  • Lincoln Log Cabin

You can see the dollhouses and current pricing on the website.  Just click the photographs above.  A fully assembled dollhouse with finished exterior is a great opportunity for Christmas (for yourself or someone special).  I've also priced many of the displays in the shop, including the ice cream parlor, the log cabin den, and the garden.  Sorry, you'll have to come into the shop to see them, but a few are pictured below.

Upcoming Steampunk Workshop.  Just the first step (well maybe a little tease) of what I've got planned.  There's room inside for your personal vision of a Steampunk inspired miniature scene.  Got a few ideas?  Make notes.  Do some research.  More information next month on this workshop.
Just a Reminder....
Jeepers will be closed on July 1st through July 4th so I may attend the second of three out-of-town family weddings this summer.

Jeepers will reopen on Tuesday, July 5th at 11am and resume regular hours:  11am until 5pm Tuesdays-Saturdays.  Web orders placed during this time will be processed and shipped upon my return.   Thank you for your understanding!
Of course, I don't want to forget all of our Dad's out there...especially those who put up with the insanity of miniaturists, those who patiently wait while their children explore the world of miniatures (or wives shop), and those who undertake building, electrifying and decorating a dollhouse for their special someone.

Happy Father's Day!
