Helis Oil & Gas Announces Plans to Begin Drilling Conventional Vertical Well in St. Tammany Parish

On Monday, June 13 Helis Oil & Gas announced plans to begin drilling our conventional vertical well in rural St. Tammany Parish. The initial phase of this project is expected to begin by the end of June and will last approximately 30 days. At the conclusion of this phase, we will review our findings before determining whether the well is commercially viable.

Prior to drilling we will be conducting an emergency readiness exercise with parish First Responders, holding site tours for the news media to ensure full transparency of our project and briefing other community leaders on our plans. Air, water quality and noise monitoring will continue throughout the project.

In striving to be good corporate citizens and guests of St. Tammany Parish, Helis recognizes the importance of going above and beyond our permit requirements in placing additional safeguards on our operations. We have done just that and look forward to next steps in the project and to drilling this initial vertical well as proposed and permitted.  The Advocate has the complete story  on yesterdays announcement.
