June on the Rooftop - Week Two
We had a wonderful week at Vacation Bible School last week! Our theme was CaveQuest where we transformed our worship space into a cave and focused on FOLLOWING JESUS - the light of the world. We learned that we get hope, courage, direction, love and power from Jesus. We served over 500 kids in both the morning and evening sessions. The week was amazing and there are many, many stories that describe the Holy Spirit at work in our church during the week. Our student ministry age volunteers were amazing and modeled servanthood to the kids that participated. Many in our church staff took time away from their regular duties to experience and lead CaveQuest! I am deeply grateful to them. We had over 100 adult volunteers that led stations, made snacks, or shepherded kids from station to station. I am amazed and thankful for the many adults who volunteer in order to make our VBS a success every year. Our leadership team has been working since October getting ready for this one week. HMUMC offers an outstanding program and invests in each child spiritually and financially. Thank you for supporting the vision and mission of Crosstown Kids to provide a welcoming environment that partners with parents to grow disciples of Jesus Christ. I love you, my church!

We have an immediate need for more volunteers in our special needs classes at 9:30am and 11:00am. We are facing the possibility of having to cancel a class one Sunday a month. It breaks my heart that the families of our special needs kids will have to miss church due to our lack of volunteers. Please consider sharing a small amount of time with these folks so that they can spend an hour in worship without worrying about their kiddo!

August 7: Blessing of the Backpacks - Join us at 9:30am or 11:00am and bring your backpack to church so that your church family can pray for you during worship before school starts. Last year's blessing was an awesome experience, I know you won't want to miss it and will want the sweet cross on your backpack that has been prayed over for you by so many.
Sept 9 - Sept 11: Rock On, Crosstown Kids Fall Retreat for 3rd-5th grades. Visit
