Sunday, December 7, 2014
4:30 - 6:00 p.m.
Was Ojai really the setting for Hollywood's version of Shangri-La? Or is it merely a myth that Frank Capra set his classic 1937 film "Lost Horizon" in the beautiful Ojai Valley? Join us at the Museum as we discuss Ojai as a film location through the years.  Mark Lewis will moderate with panelists:
  • Stuart Crowner, creator of a video of movies filmed in Ojai
  • Anca Colbert, local arts consultant and arts writer on the alleged connection between Ojai and "Lost Horizon"
  • Suzanne Combs, host to Emma Stone and the cast of "Easy A" when her house was used as a set during the 2009 film shoot

Also discussed will be the silent-era epic "Ramona" filmed in 1915 on the Casitas Springs ranch of Bob Clark, grandfather of Ojai's Patricia Clark Doerner.

FREE to OVM members; $5 for non-members.
FREE Saturday Afternoon Movie Matinees
Every Saturday through December 20
4:00 p.m.

Join us in the Rotating Gallery for a series of classic family films with popular movie stars of the past including Charlie Chaplin, Shirley Temple, Loretta Young, Katherine Hepburn, Audrey Hepburn, and Judy Garland. Some of the films have a special Ojai connection.
