Feel like a little bike ride on the July 4th Weekend?
We've got a solution for you!
The Hills Are Alive - July 2
Myers Event Center
McKinney, TX

Let's celebrate the July 4 weekend with some fireworks! Well, how about a bike ride with some POP! Hills, that is. Not long enough to take forever, but long enough and steep enough that you will get an exhilarating ride, no matter how many laps you last.
Since the local ride calendar is rather empty, we are offering a very special ride on Saturday, July 2. Our "little ride" is a short route (8 miles) that utilizes a loop of hills that you can take on for up to 12 laps. That's 96 miles! The ride begins at 8am.
Your registration fee covers your refreshments and on road support. Participants will be limited to the first 250 riders who pay their fee.
Registration is $10 per person through June 15 (TOMORROW) and it goes up to $15 per person on June 16 (WEDNESDAY). If we do not sell out prior to July 2, day of event registration will be $20.
Once we receive your registration, we will send you the directions to the start site (Myers Event Center in Northwest McKinney) and the route files.
Our ride will happen rain or shine. Registration fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.   To register online by credit card, click this link to visit our online store.

Watch Out for that pavement!
I have been on the crew for a lot of bike rides, participated in countless more rides and even produced a few rides around the country. At all of those rides I have noticed a similarity. The pavement is the most hazardous portion of any route. So, no matter when or where you ride, watch out for the pavement. If you are in closely packed groups, make sure everyone is calling out the hazards. If you are riding in an area rally, make sure you call out the road hazards to those riders around you. Potholes, cracks and expansion joints that pose no problem for a large 4 wheeled vehicle are a big challenge for most road bikes. Be careful out there!
