Sewer Maintenance Summer Internship

Four Engineering students have been hired into the Sewer Maintenance division for the summer. Interns have been assigned to seasoned staff and will assist in completing smoke testing of sewer lines and GPS identification of manholes. Both of these tasks will collect data that will assist the department in filling a data gap. This data will ultimately support future design of renewal and replacement projects and help to address infiltration and inflow (surface water runoff) into the sanitary sewer system. Additionally, the students who were selected for these positions expressed interest in hydrology and/or civil engineering and will likely benefit from the hands-on experience.
