The temperatures are rising, the days are getting longer, and it seems safe to say that summer is here. For many, summer means traveling, vacations, and quality family time. As you're making plans for the next few months, I would like to encourage you to take full advantage of all the great options we have right here in our own community. This is a great time to be a tourist in your hometown.
We have numerous museums, beautiful parks, historical sites and family-friendly attractions, and many of them offer free or low-cost opportunities. The Convention and Visitors Bureau is a wonderful source of information, even for the locals! Stop by or visit their website to start planning your itinerary.
While you're out and about, be sure to check out our many small businesses. We have everything from shopping to dining, arts and music venues, and these business owners are the lifeblood of our community. I encourage you to support them as often as you can. Here's to a summer full of hometown adventures!

The Thunder Over Georgia Air Show will be October 1 & 2 at Robins Air Force Base. Gates will open at 9 AM with the Opening Ceremony beginning at 11 AM each day. Admission and parking are free!
The Governor's Office of Student Achievement recognized the student achievement growth at Burdell-Hunt Magnet School with a Gold Award.
