Cul De Sac and Block Party Funds ~ A few spots available! 
OMCA will reimburse up to $75 for cul de sac improvements and $25 for Block Party reimbursement.  Please contact the Village Manager for details.  All funds must be reserved in advance with Sandy Cederbaum, Village Manager and a few slots remain for both.  Contact Sandy at manager@oaklandmills.org or call 410-730-4610.

Resident Architecture Committee (RAC) 
The next RAC meeting will be held on Thursday, June 16 at 7:30 at The Other Barn.  Sign in begins at 7:00 p.m.

How To Combat Mosquitoes in Your Yard - learn some interesting facts about mosquitoes and how to combat mosquito breeding in the neighborhood.  Make a trap to capture adult mosquitoes.  If possible please bring a large clean plastic soda bottle.

Bike with a Cop will be held tomorrow, June 11 from 9 am - noon in Long Reach!

This event is open to the public regardless of where in the county you live!

Meet at the Young School Parking Lot at 8251 Tamar Drive, Columbia.

Kids ages 5 - 12 and their parents are invited to bike the pathways of Long Reach with officers from HCPD's Pathway Patrol Section.

CA KidsDay!
Saturday, June 11, Columbia SportsPark
10 am - 3 pm
KidsDay, the fun, annual welcome-to-summer event designed for kids and hosted by Columbia Association (CA), returns on Saturday, June 11, with a party from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Columbia SportsPark.

KidsDay is open to the public; there's no need to sign up. Just show up and enjoy a day of super-fun activities at Columbia SportsPark, 5453 Harpers Farm Road toward the back of the Harper's Choice Village Center. 
 
Mini-golf and all-you-can-hit batting cages will be free for all kids ages 12 and younger: those 13 and up will get 50% off regular prices for mini-golf and all-you-can-hit batting cages. There will also be numerous fun offerings available and free to all, including arts and crafts, a moon bounces, Zumba® for kids, face painting, animal balloons, dance music, a photo booth, and a variety of games and structured activities. While you and your family are having fun, learn more about CA's great youth programs, classes, camps and special offers.

Concessions will be available for purchase, including food, beverages, snacks and ice cream. Door prizes will also be held during KidsDay.

Saturday, June 25th, 8 am - noon at the Columbia SportsPark, 5453 Harpers Farm Rd, Columbia.

Do you have an old working room air conditioning unit or dehumidifier to recycle? BGE residential customers can stop by the Columbia SportsPark on Saturday June 25th and drop off up to two room air conditioning units and/or dehumidifiers and receive a $25 reward! The BGE Smart Energy Savers Program® will give customers $25 per unit recycled, for up to two room air conditioning units and/or dehumidifiers. The units must be in working condition to be eligible. Customers will receive a check for $25 approximately four to six weeks after the event. CA is also handing out free mini golf coupons. 

Rain or shine, BGE representatives will be on hand to unload units directly from vehicles. The event will be held on Saturday June 25th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Columbia SportsPark located on 5453 Harpers Farm Road in Columbia.

Description/ Information:
  • For current and rising middle schoolers
  • $5 admission.
  • Pre-registration is required. Deadline to register is June 13.

CA's Outdoor Organized Walks

Explore Columbia's natural settings with CA's 2016 series of organized outdoor walks
Columbia Association's (CA) series of outdoor walks returns in 2016 with 11 days of exploring the lakes, streams, woodlands and wildlife of Columbia.

 
"Exploring Columbia on Foot" is once again being led by award-winning environmental author Ned Tillman, who will guide discussions on the nature, history and future of these wonderful outdoor settings, including the plans for them and challenges they may face in the near future.

The walks will be held on nine Thursdays and two Saturdays from April through November. All walks will begin at 10 a.m. Registration is not required.

The remaining schedule of walks and meeting locations includes:

  • Saturday, Sept. 10, Kings Contrivance - meet at Amherst House
  • Thursday, Sept. 22, Harper's Choice - meet at Kahler Hall
