School's out...but not for long!
Each year the DIA hosts thousands of students from Wayne County on free field trips with free bus transportation. The museum also provides a wide range of resources and professional development opportunities to support teaching and learning in all subjects. Teachers, curriculum specialists, school administrators and homeschool educators can learn how to connect art to their curriculum.  Online resources include lesson plans, unit plans, graphic organizers, maps for self-guided visits and more. Professional development opportunities include public educator workshops at the museum and private, customized workshops for groups.

Educators can plan for the upcoming school year by exploring the DIA's offerings at dia.org/learn . Those interested in collaborating with the DIA education staff to develop curriculum resources can contact Rebekka Parker at (313) 833-6448 or [email protected] .

New this year, the DIA will be hosting elected officials and superintendents from the tri-county area to preview school programs and tours and meet the DIA's education staff on Friday, August 12, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Email Kathryn Dimond, DIA vice president of community relations, at [email protected] for more information.
