Spooktacular Halloween events in Downtown Akron
Dates, times and Downtown venues vary

Halloween season is here! Where better to spend it than in Downtown Akron? Activities for all ages and interests await at many venues and destinations.

Take your your ghosts and goblins to Boo at the Zoo or come in costume for the Halloween Spooktacular at the Akron-Summit County Public Library. Run with the monsters (or from them) and work off that candy at the 2nd annual Monster Dash But, Halloween isn't just for kids. Adults can enjoy Edgar Allen Poe themed masquerade ball, Masque of the Red Death, at the Akron Civic Theatre or catch the screening of 1978's classic Halloween at The Nightlight. Or get a group together and attend painting class at Palladian Palette or a fusing workshop at Akron Glass Works to create your own fall-themed piece of art.

Downtown Akron welcomes two new businesses in October

Pizza Fire opened Oct. 16 at 22 E. Exchange St.and serves hand crafted pizzas and chopped salads created by you and built just for you. They'll get you out the door fast but will use fresh ingredients to hand craft your very own personal pizza or chopped salad. They use hand crushed tomatoes for the sauce and add extra virgin olive oil and a blend of fresh spices. They grind fresh cheese daily and hand cut veggies.

BLU Jazz+, a new live music venue, opens at 47 E. Market St. on Oct. 24. This stunning space has been designed and crafted from the ground up with the presentation of live jazz in mind. To uphold the vision of creating an upscale yet accessible destination with a uniquely metropolitan vibe, BLU Jazz+ will provide a relaxing atmosphere for light socialization and the presentation of quality live jazz, plus an exciting "Black & BLU"-inspired menu of tasty tapas and small plate specialties.
