A Message From Michelle
Recently, I received a post in my Facebook newsfeed from Glenn Campbell I'll Be Me.  As some of you may recall, Pickering Manor hosted a screening of the film, "I'll Be Me", a documentary sharing the journey of the lives of Glen Campbell and his family as he is coping with the diagnosis of Alzheimer's.  His wife, Kim Campbell released a statement regarding his current condition, but also, a word to all those husbands, wives, children and professionals that provide care to those they love....Her words, "Try to stay positive.  Try to keep your sense of humor.  Lift each other up, and we'll just keep fighting the fight until some day we put an end to Alzheimer's.  We have included in this newsletter a link to Kim Campbell and her message.

Caregiving is a full-time job; whether you are the person waking and caring for someone you love or whether you are getting in a car and driving to a place where others are doing the same.  Kim Campbell's message is clear and spot on.  Take a moment today and reach out to someone who might need to hear your voice and know you care.

Let us also celebrate those men in our lives we call dads; whether they be our own or the fathers of our children.  May they be a loving memory; a daily support or a set of strong hands to hold our children...Happy Father's Day to all of you!
