A NOTE FROM LEND A HAND
Years ago, the Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association (JPNA) joined other central Tucson neighborhoods to make up Lend-A-Hand (LAH), an all-volunteer coalition serving senior neighbors.  For the past 10 years, LAH has made a significant contribution in providing a variety of free support services making it possible for seniors to remain independent and living at home.  Through the organization, volunteer participants provide free services which can include helping with transportation (going to the market, for banking, to doctors appointments), errands, friendly visits, home repairs, yard work, and other support.  LAH's  administrative umbrella is the Pima Council on Aging.
Participating in LAH is rewarding work.  Even a few hours weekly or monthly to help out neighbors, face-to-face, counts for a lot.  There is no monthly or weekly time requirement for participation by any LAH volunteer; informational opportunities about specific tasks are received by email and the recipient decides whether he or she wants to volunteer.

If you think you might be interested in helping to make a positive difference in someone's life, you can contact our Jefferson Park's Lend-A-Hand representatives-Alan Adler: 909-5204

Or you can feel free to contact LAH"s Coordinator Michele Brubaker at 248-6882 for information about the brief training program and to answer any questions you may have.    [email protected]

Thanks for making Jefferson Park and our Tucson community stronger.      (Alan Adler)
