Historic Walking Tours

Come hear the stories and see the sights of Texas' oldest town every Saturday in October, excluding SFA Homecoming Weekend (October 25.) The historic downtown walking tours offer a glimpse into what life was like in Nacogdoches during the late 1800's to early 1900's and feature historical landmarks, such as the last remaining Caddo Indian Mound, the Sterne-Hoya Museum, the Old Opera House and more. Tours depart from the Visitor Center, 200 E. Main, at 10:30 a.m. Tickets are $3 and may be purchased the day of the tour. For more information, please visit www.visitnacogdoches.org.

4th annual blast from the past
Step back in time at the 6th Annual Blast from the Past on October 11th 9 am - 2 pm. This family friendly event features Flintknapping, Artifact Identification, Oxen and Gin Pole demonstration, Pottery Making, Rock Painting, Natural weaving and dyeing demonstration, Antique toys demonstration, Knot tying and Dutch Oven cooking. Down dark corridors and in blood-spattered rooms lurk a chainsaw-toting Jason, Grim Reaper and other ghouls at the Nacogdoches Jaycees Haunted House. The annual event will be held October 27-31 at the Nacogdoches County Expo and offers safe, hair raising fun for individuals, groups and families.

Ghosts of Millard's Crossing

On Halloween night from 6 pm to 8 pm the spirits of the people who once occupied the homes of the popular historical attraction, Millard's Crossing, come alive and tell their stories. The annual event also features a hayride, face painting, a cupcake walk, taffy pull, games, schoolhouse lessons, live music and an occasional visit from the headless horseman! The event is fun for children of all ages! Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Be sure to come dressed in your Halloween costume and don't forget to bring a bag for all the candy the spirits will be handing out! For more information, please click here.
