License Renewal
NJ License Renewal Notice Will be Coming By Mail

All NJ Social Work Licenses & Certifications are due for renewal this summer. Your license must be renewed by August 31, 2016 or you cannot work as a social worker in New Jersey.

Renewal notices for Social Work Licenses (LSW or LCSW) and Certifications (CSW) will arrive in the mail between June 15 and July 15. The notice will be sent from the Office of the Attorney General, Division of Consumer Affairs, not from the Board of Social Work Examiners (BSWE).

Please watch for this mailing. It will not be in a regular envelope. It looks like a check from the government (with tear strips on 3 sides).

License renewal is online only, but you will need your  notice in order to renew. This notice will provide you with unique instructions on how to renew your license or certification.

Watch newSWire or see the NASW-NJ Web site ( www.naswnj.org) for more information after July 1st.

Know Your CE Requirements

Continuing Education (CE) Credits are required for each biennial (two year) licensing cycle.

To renew your license (LSW or LCSW) or certification (CSW), you will need to have completed the required number of CE credits during the current biennial period, which ends
August 31, 2016.

Click  here to see "Tips for Understanding the NJ Social Work Regulations for Continuing Education" which details information about how many credits each licensing level requires.
NJ Appellate Court Hearing on Affordable Housing

NJ Advocates, including our Advocacy Coordinator Renee Koubiadis, gathered at the NJ Appellate Court on Monday to ask the court to include the outstanding affordable housing obligations from 1999-2015 in considering the current housing obligations that towns must meet, for the many people of NJ whose housing needs have been neglected for years. The court has promised a quick decision, which could set statewide precedent for affordable housing in New Jersey for the future. We are hopeful the court will decide in favor of our state's low-income residents who deserve access to safe, sustainable housing.
