A Summer of Success

Our 2014 DREAM Summer Schools and Camps had an impact that went far beyond the smiles and laughter of our kids. Thanks to more than 100 international and Dominican volunteers, we were able to share an unforgettable experience with more than 600 youth in seven communities throughout the north coast. Pure fun, academic support, responsible decision-making, in depth Teacher Training and a love only a day at camp can explain... Que viva el campamento!
Master Coach Training

DREAM and Peace Corps recently celebrated a historic milestone in the Deportes para la Vida program. Five outstanding youth leaders were trained as Master Coaches, reaching the highest leadership level in the network. These five individuals have been recognized for their endless dedication to improving the lives of Dominican youth and their commitment to preventing HIV across the country. The newly trained Master Coaches join Yanlico Munesi as the lead facilitators for DPV Coach trainings, and will be facilitating their first training of trainers at the end of this month. Congratulations to these superstars!
One World Futbol

A big thank you to One World Futbol for a donation of 460 indestructible futbols. The World's Most Durable Futbol is a nearly indestructible ball that survives the harshest environments. OWF delivers balls to disadvantaged communities where play and sport are used to foster social change. We agree with them that play is a necessity of life. Children need to play to learn and grow. The power of play helps children realize their dreams. These balls will be used across the country in Deportes para la Vida and A Ganar programs. A big thank you to One World Futbol, Chevrolet, MINERD and Three Sixteen Missions for making this happen.
Butterflies Keep DREAMing

We were so honored to collaborate with Michelle, Tatiana and the entire Butterfly Effect family once again this August. Together, we showed the power of our ladies, raising more than $6,000 for high quality, local education programs and coming together on both land and in water. Thank you sooooo much Butterflies, we are already excited for 2015!

JetBlue Helps DREAM
Start the Year Off Right!

Our favorite airline has come through again! JetBlue donated 98 beautiful backpacks, carefully packed by our JetBlue dreamers in NYC and shipped down to our Montessori students. Thanks to our ongoing partnership and DREAM's status as JetBlue's official Dominican non-profit organization, we have reached thousands of youth this year. We are planning our fall workshops in Santo Domingo and Santiago, so stay tuned for more JetBlue support!
