A COURSE IN MIRACLES
CH 14 BRINGING ILLUSIONS TO TRUTH
VII. THE TEST OF TRUTH

Your part is very simple. You need only recognize that everything you learned you do not want. Ask to be taught and do not use your experiences to confirm what you have learned. When your peace is threatened or disturbed in any way, say to yourself,

I do not know what anything, including this, means.
And so I do not know how to respond to it. And I will not use my own past learning as the light to guide me now

WHAT IS IAMBIC PENTAMETER?

Today we practice differently and take
a stand against our anger, that our fears
may disappear and offer room to love.
Here is salvation in the simple words
in which we practice with today's idea.
Here is the answer to temptation which
can never fail to welcome in the Christ
where fear and anger had prevailed before.
Here is Atonement made complete, the world
passed safely by, and Heaven now restored.
Here is the Answer of the Voice of God.

   Complete abstraction is the natural
condition of the mind. But part of it
is now unnatural. It does not look
on everything as one. It sees instead
but fragments of the whole, for only thus
could it invent the partial world you see.
The purpose of all seeing is to show
you what you wish to see. All hearing but
brings to your mind the sounds it wants to hear.

Thus were specifics made. And now it is
specifics we must use in practicing.
We give them to the Holy Spirit that
He may employ them for a purpose which
is different from the one we gave to them.
Yet He can use but what we made to teach
us from a different point of view, so we
can see a different use in everything.

One brother is all brothers. Every mind
contains all minds, for every mind is one.
Such is the truth. Yet do these thoughts make clear
the meaning of creation? Do these words
bring perfect clarity with them to you?
What can they seem to be but empty sounds,
   pretty, perhaps; correct in sentiment,
   yet fundamentally not understood
nor understandable. The mind that taught
   itself to think specifically can
no longer grasp abstraction in the sense
that it is all-encompassing. We need
to see a little that we learn a lot.

It seems to be the body that we feel
limits our freedom, makes us suffer and
at last puts out our life. Yet bodies are
but symbols of a concrete form of fear.
Fear without symbols calls for no response,
for symbols can stand for the meaningless.
Love needs no symbols, being true. But fear
   attaches to specifics, being false.

Bodies attack but minds do not. This thought
is surely reminiscent of our text,
where it is often emphasized. This is
   the reason bodies easily become
fear's symbols. You have many times been urged
to look beyond the body, for its sight
presents the symbol of love's "enemy"
Christ's vision does not see. The body is
the target for attack, for no-one thinks
he hates a mind. Yet what but mind directs
the body to attack? What else could be
the seat of fear except what thinks of fear?

Hate is specific. There must be a thing
to be attacked. An enemy must be
perceived in such a form he can be touched
and seen and heard, and ultimately killed.
When hatred rests upon a thing, it calls
for death as surely as God's Voice proclaims
there is no death. Fear is insatiable,
   consuming everything its eyes behold;
   seeing itself in everything; compelled
to turn upon itself and to destroy.

Who sees a brother as a body sees
him as fear's symbol. And he will attack
because what he beholds is his own fear
external to himself, poised to attack,
and howling to unite with him again.
Mistake not the intensity of rage
projected fear must spawn. It shrieks in wrath,
and claws the air in frantic hope it can
reach to its maker and devour him.|

This do the body's eyes behold in one
whom Heaven cherishes, the angels love,
and God created perfect. This is his
reality. And in Christ's vision is
his loveliness reflected in a form
so holy and so beautiful that you
could scarce refrain from kneeling at his feet.
Yet will you take his hand instead, for you
are like him in the sight which sees him thus.

Attack on him is enemy to you,
for you will not perceive that in his hands
is your salvation. Ask him but for this,
and he will give it to you. Ask him not
to symbolize your fear. Would you request
that love destroy itself? Or would you have
it be revealed to you and set you free?|

Today we practice in a form we have
   attempted earlier. Your readiness
is closer now, and you will come today
nearer Christ's vision. If you are intent
on reaching it, you will succeed today.
And once you have succeeded, you will not
be willing to accept the witnesses
your body's eyes call forth. What you will see
will sing to you of ancient melodies
you will remember. You are not forgot
in Heaven. Would you not remember it?|

Select one brother, symbol of the rest,
and ask salvation of him. See him first
as clearly as you can in that same form
to which you are accustomed. See his face,
his hands and feet, his clothing. Watch him smile,
and note familiar gestures that he makes
so frequently. Then think of this; what you
are seeing now conceals from you the sight
of one who can forgive you all your sins,
whose sacred hands can take the nails which pierce
your own away, and lift the crown of thorns
which you have placed upon your bleeding head.

Ask this of him that he may set you free:

" Give me your blessing, holy Son of God,
I would behold you with the eyes of Christ,
And see my perfect sinlessness in you."|

And He will answer Whom you called upon,
for He will hear the Voice of God in you,
and answer in your own. Behold him now
whom you had seen as merely flesh and bone,
and recognize that Christ has come to you.

Today's idea is your sure escape
from anger and from fear. Be sure you use
it instantly, should you be tempted to
attack a brother and perceive in him
the symbol of your fear. And you will see
   him suddenly transformed from enemy
to saviour; from the devil into Christ. |

LESSON 161
Give me your blessing, holy Son of God.

Sarah's Commentary:

This is a powerful Lesson that focuses on forgiveness. The Lesson can perhaps be called an abstraction of the entire teaching in the Course, addressing our anger, projection, the specifics of the body, and the world of form. It also offers a powerful forgiveness practice. Jesus reminds us we can ". . . welcome in the Christ where fear and anger had prevailed before." (W.161.1.3) In other words, in the previous Lesson, fear and anger were described as the stranger that invaded our pristine home where Spirit dwells. When we ask this stranger to leave, space is made in the mind for the truth to prevail.

We have been given very specific instructions for our practice today, which is to ". . . take a stand against our anger." (W.161.1.1) This is the way we make room for love and choose not to let the stranger continue to reside in our home. Now is the time to take a stand against the ego, not by fighting it or resisting it, but simply by not attending to it. This means we must be vigilant in watching our thoughts and monitoring our feelings so we can recognize when the ego is on the throne. When we focus on differences and engage in competition where we try to win at our brother's expense, we are listening to the ego. The ego promises that "getting" will fulfill us and "defending will protect us." Yet through these tactics, we accumulate more guilt, operate on lack, and feel very vulnerable. When we turn to the Holy Spirit, He reminds us of our innocence, our completion, and our invulnerability. There is nothing to defend.

I received a vignette today of what happens when we defend. The story goes that on the Star Trek series the crew of the Starship Enterprise faced a tough dilemma because every time they held up their force-field shields to ward off attack the ship would lose power. Their shields drained the energy from the ship. The only way the ship could be moved was to drop the shields and find another way to triumph. In the same way, any energy we invest in defense robs us of our creative power and ability to move forward. It is about bringing our darkness that we hide even from ourselves to the light in order to liberate the Self we are.

The natural condition of the mind is one of complete abstraction. (W.161.2.1) Another way to say this is that the natural condition of the mind is only love and nothing else. The mind has no boundaries and no limits, but we can't understand abstraction with our current way of seeing. Jesus tells us, "One brother is all brothers. Every mind contains all minds, for every mind is one." (W.161.4.1-2) While it may sound good to us, and the words are appealing and may even resonate as the truth, Jesus says we don't get it. He says, "The mind that taught itself to think specifically can no longer grasp abstraction in the sense that it is all-encompassing." (W.161.4.7) This is because a part of the mind is no longer in its natural state. We no longer look on everything as One, but instead we see everything in parts. We focus on specifics, and now see concrete fragments of the whole, meaning we see everyone as separate and different. In the world of specifics, abstraction no longer exists. The ego set it up this way because we need specific people onto whom we project our guilt.

The physical world serves this purpose for us, as there are a lot of people and situations in the world where we can project our guilt. It is our way of proving separation is a fact. We can make others responsible for destroying the Oneness of Heaven, because we don't want to be responsible for having done this ourselves. We blame others in the hope God will punish those we deem guilty instead of us, and we can keep our separate state, but make someone else responsible. While this is not in our conscious awareness, this thought system is in our minds, which we can see when we watch how we want to find the guilty ones and see ourselves as innocent by comparison.

Jesus now introduces the idea of the body as a specific. Here he says we see that the body ". . . limits our freedom, makes us suffer and at last puts out our life." (W.161.5.1) Yet he says the fact is bodies are not real and can't make us suffer. Suffering can only come from our wrong-minded choice. In that choice, we let the stranger into our pristine home. In other words, we chose the ego, and with it came all our pain, anger, suffering, attack, guilt, and fear. Bodies are ". . . but symbols for a concrete form of fear." (W.161.5.2) They provide a concrete symbol on which we can dump our own fear, attack, anger, and hatred. Without a specific target, what would we do with all these feelings? What would we do if there were no one to blame? We would have to take total responsibility for our condition, and we are not willing to do that.

Think about your own fear, anger, and attack. Recognize how it is always focuses on specific bodies. These are our targets for attack. How could we attack if we didn't have something specific on which to project our anger? The body is ". . . the symbol of love's 'enemy,' Christ's vision does not see." (W.161.6.4) Only when we use our senses and judge our brother do we see the body. He says, "You have many times been urged to look beyond the body." (W.161.6.4) He is not saying we should deny we are seeing bodies in front of us, but he is asking us to turn to the Holy Spirit, and allow Him to give us His interpretation of who our brother really is beyond his body. "Bodies attack, but minds do not." (W.161.6.1) Because the mind is One there is nothing outside Oneness to attack. However, as long as there are attack thoughts in the mind, the mind will direct the body to do its bidding. Thus, it is ". . . the seat of fear," (W.161.6.7) though it is important to recognize the attack-thoughts in the mind are not real. In fact, nothing in this projected world is real.

Jesus tells us, "Hate is specific." (W.161.7.1) Projection makes perception. Thus, I am able to see my own self-attacking thoughts in my perception of another. This is why the way we see anyone is the way we see ourselves. The ego's clever trick is to have us pretend that we can get rid of our own guilt and hatred by seeing it in others. Because we don't want to take responsibility for our sins and because the guilt would be overwhelming, the ego's grand plan is for us to find the guilty ones "out there." It has promised us that attack will deliver safety and happiness, but what it does instead is accumulate more guilt in the mind. Its plan at the end is for our own death, but our hope is that God will see our enemies as the ones who should be punished, rather than ourselves. Meanwhile, we take on what Jesus calls, ". . . the face of innocence." (T.31.V.2.6) (ACIM OE T.31.44) It is our self-image, where we see ourselves as trying to make our way as best as we can in an unjust world. We try to respond to the attacks coming at us by defending ourselves. We want to satisfy our great need to be innocent; so we try to buy our innocence at the expense of our brothers, but this is not true innocence.

Although we project our own anger and attack onto our brothers, we now see them as the attackers! And we, as the "innocent ones," justify our righteous anger and attack under the ruse that we are only defending ourselves. Because of the clever way the ego has set up this whole drama, we don't see how it all starts in our own minds. We don't want to admit that we actually attack because we want to. We make it seem like we are victims of an attacking world, where we are constantly defending against seemingly unjustified attacks. We are not willing to see that it is our own attacks bouncing back at us, since ". . . what he beholds is his own fear external to himself, poised to attack and howling to unite with him again." (W.161.8 2) We really don't want to see the ". . . intensity of rage projected fear must spawn. It shrieks in wrath, and claws the air in frantic hope it can reach to its maker and devour him." (W.161.8.3-4) It takes great courage to look at the extent of our murderous thoughts. It fills the mind with horror to accept that these thoughts are underneath the face of innocence.

We all want to see ourselves as benign, sweet, and lovely beings, who only attack when provoked. Our face of innocence, behind which we hide these hateful thoughts, is the image we try to show the world. The fact is that we actually want our enemies to be killed rather than having God kill us. This is what we need to acknowledge if we are to take responsibility for our own attack thoughts and bring these dark thoughts to the altar within the mind to be shined away. When we take responsibility for everything we see in our brother as projected from our own minds and see that none of what the ego has made up is true, then the healing process can start. We no longer identify fully with the character in the dream. We increasingly take the place of the observer and see the play for what it is-constructed by the ego so we would forget who we really are.

When I am able to accept that there is no one doing anything to me and there is only my mind to heal, I become willing to take responsibility for my projections, recognizing there is an opportunity for me to see what was obscured in my mind. It takes a level of courage and great honesty to acknowledge the viciousness of the ego thought system. Although it is illusory, it cannot be healed while it is hidden from our awareness. This requires that we give up our heavy layer of denial and defense, which we hide behind. When we recognize the way the ego has set it all up, and that the initial attack on God has never happened except in dreams, then we can escape from the ego's program. It is all a myth made up by the ego. Yet while we believe in it, we must engage in the process of going through the layers of darkness. It takes great willingness, but we don't go there alone. Our part is to look at what is coming up in our thoughts and feelings.

Jesus cautions us, "No one can escape from illusions unless he looks at them, for by not looking is the way they are protected. There is no need to shrink from illusions, for they cannot be dangerous. We are ready to look more closely at the ego's thought system because together we have the lamp that will dispel it, and since you realize you do not want it, you must be ready. Let us be very calm in doing this, for we are merely looking honestly for truth. The 'dynamics' of the ego will be our lesson for a while, for we must look first at this to see beyond it, since you have made it real. We will undo this error quietly together, and then look beyond it to truth." (T.11.V.1-6)(ACIM OE T.10.VI.39)

Think about how this shows up in your own life. Anytime you make someone responsible for how you feel and who you are by blaming them for your lack of happiness and wholeness, you are playing the ego's game. It may be your parents, teachers, ministers, partners, friends or politicians, you blame for your lack of wholeness. In effect, you are saying, "'I am the thing you made of me and as you look on me, you stand condemned because of what I am'." (T.31.V.5.3)(ACIM OE T.31.V.47) Isn't this the basis of all our stories? And when we see our brothers as responsible for how we are and what we feel and experience, then we don't see that their reality is the same as ourselves-someone that Heaven cherishes and the angels love. We don't see their perfection as God created them. "And in Christ's vision is his loveliness reflected in a form so holy and so beautiful that you could scarce refrain from kneeling at his feet." (W.161.9.3)

Forgiveness is the answer for our separated condition. For now, we are given a forgiveness exercise that must focus on specifics because that is what we have made. The Holy Spirit will employ these specifics for a purpose, which is different from our own. What we made for sinful purposes can be used by the Holy Spirit to heal our minds so they can ultimately return to their natural condition of abstraction. The truth is our brother was created perfect, holy, and beautiful, beyond all form. Jesus asks for us to put our own salvation in our brother's hands because through him love can be ". . . revealed to you and set you free." (W.161.9.9) Each brother gives us an opportunity to see what is in our own minds, mirroring back at us either our choice for the ego or for the Holy Spirit. As we pay attention to the way we perceive anyone, it will reveal to us what we are choosing to believe about ourselves. Yes, it is the brother who we are currently angry with, hate, don't trust, feel betrayed by, feel hurt by, or fear, that is the one who helps us recognize our own self-attacks we have projected onto him. We ask that he not symbolize our fear, but rather that he set us free. With forgiveness, our underlying sameness is revealed.

When a brother triggers a reaction in us, we are given an opportunity to look at what is unhealed in our own minds. We can see where we are attacking ourselves and bring our own self-hatred to the inner altar to be shined away. We ask for help of the Holy Spirit to undo all that we willingly bringing to His attention. He is the Light in our right minds, Who shines away our dark thoughts. Yet He can't shine anything away that we withhold from Him and defend against. It is up to us to bring awareness to our blocks to love. As we heal, we are no longer triggered by what our brothers seem to do to us. Their seeming attacks are now seen as calls for love and understanding. There is now no place in us where these attacks can land. Our peace is no longer affected. The Holy Spirit interprets everything a brother does as love or a call for love. Thus, we choose not to interpret any behavior we see that seems to be attacking as anything but a mistake, rather than a sin that demands punishment. All mistakes can be corrected. They have no effect on our reality. Now, instead of attack, we receive a blessing. This is the choice we can make in each encounter and with each brother. Will we see him as a symbol of our fear or as a symbol of Christ's love and as our savior?

Jesus says that, while we attempted this forgiveness practice earlier, in Lessons 78 and 121, we are now even more ready for success. "Your readiness is closer now, and you will come today nearer Christ's vision. If you are intent on reaching it, you will succeed today." (W.161.10.2-3) Our willingness will be strengthened to overlook what our eyes show us about any brother who seems to provoke us. Why would we want to hold onto the fear and hatred when we have such an opportunity to remember instead the beautiful ancient melodies that call us home? So, we choose today to do the practice, remembering our brother is not the symbol of the fear we see. Instead, we see a spiritual being like ourselves, who, if we saw the truth of his Being, we could "scarce refrain from kneeling at his feet." (W.161.9.3)

We are asked today to "Select one brother, symbol of the rest, and ask salvation of him. See him first as clearly as you can, in that same form to which you are accustomed. See his face, his hands and fee, his clothing Watch him smile and see familiar gestures which he makes so frequently. Then think of this: What you are seeing now conceals from you the sight of one who can forgive you all your sins; whose sacred hands can take away the nails which pierce your own, and lift the crown of thorns which you have placed upon your bleeding head. And ask this of him, that he may set you free:

"Give me your blessing, holy Son of God. I would behold you with the eyes of Christ, and see my perfect sinlessness in you." (W.161.11.1-7)

While we are asking the blessing of a brother, there is no one outside of our own minds. The blessing is ultimately for ourselves. With each day of practice, we come closer to undoing the blocks and experiencing the truth of who we are as an abstract mind of pure love.

Love and blessings, Sarah
VII. The Test of Truth

58 Yet the essential thing is learning that you do not know. Knowledge is power, and all power is of God. You who have tried to keep power for yourselves have lost it. You still have the power, but you have interposed so much between it and your awareness of it that you cannot use it. Everything you have taught yourselves has made your power more and more obscure to you. You know not what it is nor where. You have made a semblance of power and a show of strength so pitiful that it must fail you. For power is not a seeming strength, and truth is beyond semblance of any kind. Yet all that stands between you and the power of God in you is but your learning of the false and your attempts to undo the true.

59 Be willing, then, for all of it to be undone, and be glad that you are not bound to it forever. For you have taught yourselves how to imprison the Son of God, a lesson so unthinkable that only the insane, in deepest sleep, could even dream of it. Can God learn how not to be God? And can His Son, given all power by Him, learn to be powerless? What have you taught yourselves that you can possibly prefer to keep in place of what you have and what you are?

60 Atonement teaches you how to escape forever from everything that you have taught yourselves in the past by showing you only what you are now. Learning has been accomplished before its effects are manifest. Learning is therefore in the past, but its influence determines the present by giving it whatever meaning it holds for you. Your learning gives the present no meaning at all. Nothing you have ever learned can help you understand the present or teach you how to undo the past. Your past is what you have taught yourselves. Let it all go. Do not attempt to understand any event or anything or anyone in its light, for the light of darkness by which you try to see can only obscure.

61 Put no confidence at all in darkness to illuminate your understanding, for if you do, you contradict the light and thereby think you see the darkness. Yet darkness cannot be seen, for it is nothing more than a condition in which seeing becomes impossible. You who have not yet brought all of the darkness you have taught yourselves unto the light in you can hardly judge the truth and value of this course. Yet God did not abandon you. And so you have another lesson sent from Him, already learned for every Child of light by Him to Whom God gave it. This lesson shines with God's glory, for in it lies His power, which He shares so gladly with His Son.

62 Learn of His happiness, which is yours. But to accomplish this, all your dark lessons must be brought willingly to truth and joyously laid down by hands open to receive, not closed to take. Every dark lesson that you bring to Him Who teaches light He will accept from you because you do not want it. And He will gladly exchange each one for the bright lesson He has learned for you. Never believe that any lesson you have learned apart from Him means anything.

63 You have one test, as sure as God, by which to recognize if what you learned is true. If you are wholly free of fear of any kind, and if all those who meet or even think of you share in your perfect peace, then you can be sure that you have learned God's lesson and not yours. Unless all this is true, there are dark lessons in your minds which hurt and hinder you and everyone around you. The absence of perfect peace means but one thing: you think you do not will for God's Son what His Father wills for him. Every dark lesson teaches this in one form or another. And each bright lesson, with which the Holy Spirit will replace the dark ones you do not accept and hide, teaches you that you will with the Father unto His Son.

64 Do not be concerned how you can learn a lesson so completely different from everything you have taught yourselves. How would you know? Your part is very simple. You need only recognize that everything you learned you do not want. Ask to be taught and do not use your experiences to confirm what you have learned. When your peace is threatened or disturbed in any way, say to yourself,

65 I do not know what anything, including this, means.
And so I do not know how to respond to it.
And I will not use my own past learning as the light to
    guide me now.

66 By this refusal to attempt to teach yourself what you do not know, the Guide Whom God has given you will speak to you. He will take His rightful place in your awareness the instant you abandon it and offer it to Him.

67 You cannot be your guide to miracles, for it is you who made them necessary. And because you did, the means on which you can depend for miracles has been provided for you. God's Son can make no needs His Father will not meet if he but turn to Him ever so little. Yet He cannot compel His Son to turn to Him and remain Himself. It is impossible that God lose His Identity, for if He did, you would lose yours. And being yours, He cannot change Himself, for your identity is changeless. The miracle acknowledges His changelessness by seeing His Son as he always was and not as he would make himself. The miracle brings the effects which only guiltlessness can bring and thus establishes the fact that guiltlessness must be.

68 How can you, so firmly bound to guilt and committed so to remain, establish for yourself your guiltlessness? That is impossible. But be sure that you are willing to acknowledge that it is impossible. It is only because you think that you can run some little part or deal with certain aspects of your lives alone that the guidance of the Holy Spirit is limited. Thus would you make Him undependable and use this fancied undependability as an excuse for keeping certain dark lessons from Him. And by so limiting the guidance that you would accept, you are unable to depend on miracles to answer all your problems for you.

69 Do you think that what the Holy Spirit would have you give He would withhold from you? You have no problems which He cannot solve by offering you a miracle. Miracles are for you. And every fear or pain or trial you have has been undone. He has brought all of them to light, having accepted them instead of you and recognized they never were. There are no dark lessons He has not already lightened for you. The lessons you would teach yourselves He has corrected already. They do not exist in His Mind at all. For the past binds Him not and therefore binds not you. He does not see time as you do. And each miracle He offers you corrects your use of time and makes it His.

70 He Who has freed you from the past would teach you are free of it. He would but have you accept His accomplishments as yours because he did them for you. And because he did, they are yours. He has made you free of what you made. You can deny Him, but you cannot call on Him in vain. He always gives what He has made in place of you. He would establish His bright teaching so firmly in your mind that no dark lessons of guilt can abide in what He has established as holy by His Presence. Thank God that He is there and works through you. And all His works are yours. He offers you a miracle with every one you let Him do through you.

71 God's Son will always be indivisible. As we are held as one in God, so do we learn as one in Him. God's Teacher is as like to His Creator as is His Son, and through His Teacher does God proclaim His Oneness and His Son's. Listen in silence, and do not raise your voice against Him. For He teaches the miracle of oneness, and before His lesson division disappears. Teach like Him here, and you will remember that you have always created like your Father. The miracle of creation has never ceased, having the holy stamp of immortality upon it. This is the Will of God for all creation, and all creation joins in willing this.

72 Those who remember always that they know nothing, but who have become willing to learn everything, will learn it. But whenever they trust themselves, they will not learn. They have destroyed their motivation for learning by thinking they already know. Think not you understand anything until you pass the test of perfect peace, for peace and understanding go together and never can be found alone. Each brings the other with it, for it is the law of God they be not separate. They are cause and effect, each to the other, so where one is absent the other cannot be.

73 Only those who see they cannot know unless the effects of understanding are with them can really learn at all. And for this, it must be peace they want and nothing else. Whenever you think you know, peace will depart from you because you have abandoned the Teacher of Peace. Whenever you fully realize that you know not, peace will return, for you will have invited Him to do so by abandoning the ego on behalf of Him. Call not upon the ego for anything. It is only this that you need do. The Holy Spirit will, of Himself, fill every mind that so makes room for Him.

74 If you want peace, you must abandon the teacher of attack. The Teacher of peace will never abandon you. You can desert Him, but He will never reciprocate, for His faith in you is His understanding. It is as firm as is His faith in His Creator, and He knows that faith in His Creator must encompass faith in His creation. In this consistency lies His holiness, which He cannot abandon, for it is not His Will to do so. With your perfection ever in His sight, He gives the gift of peace to everyone who perceives the need for peace and who would have it. Make way for peace, and it will come. For understanding is in you, and from it peace must come.

75 The power of God, from which they both arise, is yours as surely as it is His. You think you know Him not only because, alone, it is impossible to know Him. Yet see the mighty works that He will do through you, and you must be convinced you did them through Him. It is impossible to deny the Source of effects so powerful they could not be of you. Leave room for Him, and you will find yourself so filled with power that nothing will prevail against your peace. And this will be the test by which you recognize that you have understood.
