Social Media Town Hall Meeting on
2017-2018 Proposed Budget

Join us (from anywhere) for the Social Media Town Hall about the 2017-2018 Proposed Budget  on Tuesday, June 14 from 2:00-3:30 pm.

In 2016, there were over 3,000 comments, likes, and shares on Facebook. The feedback that was received last year about topics such as illegal dumping and  planting trees was used to build the budget.

You can look at the current 2016-2017 Adopted Budget here to get ideas for the 2017-2018 budget.

Riverfest Pedal Parade is Saturday, June 11

You'll want to pedal your way to the fest at 12 noon on Saturday, June 11, to participate in the inaugural Riverfest Pedal Parade! As with any good parade, we want to see your flair! All human powered machines welcome, so get those bikes tricked out and festoon every trike, wagon and stroller in site.

The parade will roll through the festival grounds and pass by the judges reviewing stand before returning to Kennedy Plaza.
This is a family-friendly event. Awards in eight categories and
more than $500 in prize money will be awarded.

Upcoming Engineering Projects

Wichita citizens will see more construction underway over the next year, across the City.  In addition to work that is occurring at Kellogg & Webb, Kellogg & I-235 and Meridian, south of Pawnee, the Engineering Division expects to complete design and begin construction on over 20 new capital improvement projects in the next year, at an estimated total cost of $295 million.  Highlights of the improvements include three major treatment facility upgrades, 37 miles of neighborhood water main replacement, two bridges, six miles of arterial street and intersection improvements, and the next phase of East Kellogg expansion.  Funding for the projects is included in the 2015-2024 Capital Improvement Program and includes revenue and general obligation bonds, state and federal funding, including the TWORKS Highway Bill.
