Greater Freeport Chamber of Commerce
Chamber Chatter News Edition

I just left a meeting attended by some of our newer Chamber members and one of our discussion topics was about how the Chamber is a strong incubator for collaboration and new ideas.  We continue to see many partnerships form within our organization on a regular basis.  We are a strong network of smart business owners finding every possible way to support each other and keep business local.

A recent testimonial came from our past Executive Director, Sande Updegraph, now owner of Maine Memories Gifts.  Sande states: " Thank you, Jim DeGrandpre.  Jim offered to connect me with an outstanding marketing and social media guru that could give my business a real boost.  And, she is affordable!  Thanks, Jim, for being a chamber member and for caring enough to support my business."  Thank you too Jim!

If anyone has any similar testimonials, please call me to share them so we can put them on our Facebook page and our website!

Welcome to Amy Gillis as our newest Board member.  Amy brings many years of experience to our board and has been an active volunteer and events committee member as well.  Amy is actively involved in management and marketing for both the Freeport CafĂ© and The Lobster Cooker.  She also won our Volunteer of the Year for 2015.  We are very lucky to have Amy on our board!

I also want to welcome Cory King as the new Executive Director of the Southern Mid Coast Chamber of Commerce.  He comes from Skowhegan's Chamber with some great experience and ideas and I look forward to collaborating with him.  I also want to wish Carolyn Farkas-Noe, who is retiring from that role all the best.  She has been very supportive of our Chamber and I thank her on behalf of all of our members.  Enjoy your well earned retirement!
