Poster
Zev Leifer, PhD , Professor of Pre-Clinical Sciences, attended the Conference on Genetics and Genomics in May, and presented a poster there.  That's not unusual, but the conference was; it was online and free. There were all the features of a physical conference -- an Exhibit Hall (where attendees could chat with vendors), a Lounge (where attendees could chat with scientists), a Resources area and a Poster Hall (for viewing the posters) - but without the flight delays and the expense. Explore the conference here .
Dr. Leifer's poster is:
An Unusual tRNA Synthetase Action Leading to Unusual Amino Acid Incorporation Leading to Unusual Protein Folding Leading to Unusual Neurological Disease: The Story of BMAA. A Review and Three Proposals. Find it here in  Poster Hall .
Dr. Leifer reports that he has been invited to be a member of the Organizing Committee of a Bioinformatics and Computational Pathology Workshop (CPW) in conjunction with the 15 th Annual European Conference on Computational Biology, to be held in The Hague in September. Arthur Steinhart, DPM (1945-2016)

This appreciation is by Thomas DeLauro, DPM ('76), Professor and Chair, Department of Podiatric Medicine: "He was an astounding clinician, thinker and my classmate. He held advanced degrees in microbiology and nutrition in addition to his doctorate in podiatric medicine. He would spend untold hours researching his lecture presentations.
