Thank you-
Clean Sweep 2016 was a success!
Thanks to everyone who participated in our annual Clean Sweep event on Sunday June 5th. This is our 4th year partnering with Seattle Pridefest to kick-off Pride Month by making Capitol Hill's streets sparkle.
As you will see from our slideshow
of the event
, we had a blast cleaning up Capitol Hill!
200 Volunteers gathered at Cal Anderson Park for coffee and pastries sponsored by our local
Starbucks, and donned orange and green "I Am Capitol Hill" t-shirts before dispersing to scrub the streets. Big thanks to our "regular" volunteers from the
Elliot Bay Book Company
for keeping those registration lines short!
Huge thanks to our "Beautification Buff' Sponsor,
Recology Cleanscapes, for
sponsoring another year of Clean Sweep and hauling our bags of trash away!
Thanks again to our hard-working Clean Sweep volunteers, see you next year!

Movie Night at the Summit
Friday, June 24th at 7pm
Summit Building (420 E. Pike)
The Summit is hosting a showing of the movie, "My Prairie Home" which follows the transgender musician, Rae Spoon, on a musical tour throughout Canada. Rae thinks and talks about family, identity and faith. It is a beautiful and contemplative film.
We will be having a brief discussion afterwards (specifically around the terrible ways that communities of faith have and often continue to marginalize the LGBTQ+ community, plus thoughts on moving forward with more inclusivity, love and respect).
Snacks are provided and the event is completely free.

Chinook Book
Chinook Book is introducing the
Heart of Seattle Awards this year, designed to recognize Seattle retail and service businesses that set a high bar for what good business should be. We'll be looking for those with social and environmental priorities, ethical business practices, happy employees, and loving customers.
Finalists from the nominees will be chosen from a scored performance of the highly regarded

Chinook Book criteria. Finalists will then be presented to the public for a vote to name the top three winners.
We will be showcasing winners of the Heart of Seattle Awards during our annual Launch Party next January.
