So how much longer must we wait?

Well it looks like we might get the announcement we have been waiting for next week as I can not see them dragging this on longer. All signs are showing this new alliance is forming very quickly.

The next session date announced by Al- Jabouri last week simply stated the adjournment of parliament is until August 5th. He did not mention that they would wait for the voting on the new prime minister till this session. This is important. Remember to there many bills over the last 4 years pending completion and final acceptance. Some already voted on and just need to be ratified to become law. The GOI has been holding them up. It is like Jubouri wants now to play catch up and get all this legislation enacted. He almost has to since much of it is dependent on the new budget and thus they can't open the new budget either unless they can go forward with these laws.

This is why we have been reading so many articles about Jubouri meeting with Maliki to learn and understand the issues involved in the holdup. I got to tell you it is like 4 years have passed and nothing substantial has come out of that government. It time to play catch up and make up lost time to move forward.

UU0127 - We Wait

Hi Everyone,

I come to you today to give you a recent update on the election process and how this relates towards the international rollout of the IQD for Iraq. The news was so overwhelming and just pouring out of Iraq.

This is a time of great anticipation and expectation not only for our ability to finally exchange our IQD but also for the people of Iraq. They too have been waiting but a lot longer than we have. Don't forget they had more than 20 years with Saddam and then that last 10 years of war. occupation and Maliki. When is it all going to settle down for these people? When will they finally see some resemblance of peace and prosperity?

Could the Islamic Eid Al-Fitr holy day be the beginning of the end?

If you have not read my previous news letter from Friday 7/25 (LINK), I encourage you to first read it. Today's news letter, as in all my news letters, is a continuation of the ongoing saga of the IQD RV process.

Tlar Comment - as I said yesterday the definition of what constitutes the largest block was at issue. It was important to make sure to the coalition that they define that as something other than the SOL.

Jubouri yesterday defined the largest block as the National Alliance effectively removing the power the SOL was trying to obtain through the courts by having them rule the SOL was the biggest block.

The National Alliance (Shia Party) consists primarily of two opposing groups, the coalition 83 MP'S and the SOL 95 MP'S. (State of Law)

The coalition wants Chalabi or Mahdi which are both acceptable to all Iraqi's and are non sectarian. The SOL leadership wants Maliki and has shown no interest in negotiating.

Sqwatchy: That Oil tanker in the Gulf...Isn't here to get a photo opp....It is to be unloaded. If it is not unloaded by Tuesday.....Then it heads to Brazil...and that....will be a costly mistake for the USA alone.

Turkey is pulling away, so how are they supposed to settle on the payment for the oil? Im guessing in Dinars!! and soon!! Sun/Mon.

BANK TIERS:

Banks are classified very generally by two different criteria: 1) amount of money managed (or deposited), and 2) services offered. There are "tiers" for each of these, which creates a good deal of confusion to call both "tiers." But there you have it.

It so happens that these two criteria often track one another. For example, banks that provide "services" like foreign exchange and wealth management typically are large enough to support such activities so they have larger depositories as well. So it is a sort of 2-fer deal sometimes.

I received the below from my physician, who's wife is an internationally acclaimed artist. Her artist friend from Israel sent her the following.... very sobering..    captures a feeling none of the news sources convey.>>>>.>>>>

" It has taken me some days to write down something coherent... but this is how I feel tonight.

     I feel like I weigh 500 pounds.   Everyone I know feels like they are walking through water.

And sad. We are all so very, very sad.    This is what I know right now, today:

   The ugliness, the venom and sheer, violent hatred you are seeing in Paris, London, Berlin, LA, Boston, Denver.... this is just the beginning.

A Letter From Israel Part 2

Issues:   Thanks for the great post.   I have also been a strong supporter of Israel as are most of Americans. As a doner of Christians United for Israel I received a beautiful Christmas message from Benjamin Netanyahu. He is a class act and all that remains of Western Civilization in the middle east.

Already the Islamist extremists are brutalizing Christians around the globe. It is not just the jewish people at risk, we all are. It is time we wake up to the truth and not the sound bites we are fed. (IMO)

Skylimit:  Thanks Laura, the civil unrest and war cycles which appear with regularity throughout history are turning up once again. The political powers need scapegoats and war to try and remain in power as economies turn down from debt and demographics. You have hit the nail on the head.

Buttercup:  Laura, thank you for sharing. This piece was most moving. Did the Israeli artist who wrote it publish it anywhere? Or was it just a private correspondence between her and her American artist friend? Has it had any public exposure apart from this forum? It really needs to be circulated.

Tlar: Thank you KUANYIN. I was very hopeful that I would only have to put out the last two emails after Jubouri became the POP.

This has dragged on a little longer than anybody had hoped it would due to the SOL.

It is going great but it has been complicated by the fact the SOL is still clinging to Maliki even though they know Maliki is unelectable, creating necessary steps and strategies along the way by Jubouri that have taken a little longer than it should have.

In a parliamentary system, if a party knows they have a candidate that can't form a political majority, they normally back out or change horses.
