Chapter President

While FY2014 has just ended, NCMA Dulles Corridor Chapter's year has just begun! We started off the program year in September with speaker Michelle Currier, who kept us engaged and brought us up to speed with her discussion on Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) updates.

October's seminar, Counterfeit Parts compliance (DFARS 252.246-7007, May 2014) and its incorporation into CPSRs, will be presented by Mark Hijar, and is especially recommended for those managing or interested in subcontract management. Also in October, our 10-week CFCM Study Group begins. Thank you to our devoted CFCM Study Group instructors, and best of luck to the participants - we look forward to congratulating you on earning your CFCM certification in December!

Future seminar topics are currently being finalized, as we are focused on presenting relevant topics that meet the learning needs of our membership. On that note, we want to hear from you - what you want to learn, and why! Additionally, if you were able to attend our September seminar, we want your feedback! This will help us ensure that we continue to offer programs and speakers that resonate with you. As always, feel free to reach out to me directly at [email protected].

Stay tuned for more information and upcoming events via email, social media, and on our website, www.ncmadulles.org.

Thank you for your support and participation in chapter events - hope to see you in October!

Do You Know Someone Who Should "Make The Switch?"

Every NCMA chapter is assigned a territory by Headquarters. Our chapter covers a large territory: Herndon, Reston, Dulles, Chantilly, Sterling, Ashburn, Leesburg, Centreville, and Manassas. This does not necessarily mean an NCMA member must belong to the chapter assigned to their location. Every chapter has its own personality in terms of offerings and NCMA members should choose a chapter that offers them the maximum benefit as it relates to their professional development.

Do you know a fellow NCMA member who is in another chapter? Then ask them to check us out. If they like what we offer, they can Make The Switch to the Dulles Corridor Chapter. An NCMA member in Virginia who switches chapter affiliation to Dulles Corridor will receive a free seminar!

We make it easy to Make The Switch. Just direct your colleague to our website page, http://www.ncmadulles.org/MakeTheSwitch He/she will provide their name, NCMA member number, and email address. We will then automatically send an email to NCMA's Member Services requesting the chapter change. It's that easy! Once the transfer is confirmed, Heather Dallara, our VP of Membership, will issue the registration code for the free seminar.

Help us grow our chapter by encouraging your fellow NCMA colleagues to Make The Switch!
