League of Women Voters of the Austin Area
Discussion group:
 Local Issues
(Resend adding time)

OUR CITY NEEDS OUR INPUT,

OUR COUNTY NEEDS OUR INPUT,

OUR SCHOOL BOARD NEEDS OUR INPUT.

The Austin League of Women Voters is a good influence on the governance of our city and county.  We have many policies and positions that can help our government make decisions that benefit all the people.

I am forming a committee which will meet once a month to discuss the local issues of the day and help determine what the League might be able to address.  In addition, those who are available and interested will go with me to interview our city council members and the mayor, county commissioners and school board trustees.  This will take a while.  We will find out what their priorities are and inform them of some of the League's priorities.  It will be a non-threatening interview, lasting no more than 30 minutes.

Our first organizational meeting will be 10:00 am - noon, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the League Office 1011 West 31st Street.  I will have breakfast goodies.  Bring your own coffee/drink.

If you are interested in this committee (and I think it will be loads of fun), and can come on Saturday, Jan. 17, please email me.  If you have another engagement for Saturday, please let me know if you are interested in being on the committee.

I'm looking forward to learning a lot from this committee and I think you will too.

Thanks.
