New Hoka Cliftons are at Fleet Feet

The newly released Hoka Clifton, named one of the "Best Summer Kicks of 2014"  by Outside Magazine, is now at Fleet Feet. Outside Magazine calls the new Cliftons "a minor miracle of design. It comes with Hoka's signature doublethick foam suspension, yet it boasts a floats-on-your-foot weight of less than 8 ounces (men are 7.9 ounces, women 6.9, both a 5mm offset). That's lighter than many minimalist shoes. The feel? Quick, lively, and smooth rolling, thanks to the rockered midsole and a supple, form-fitting upper (the best we've seen from Hoka). Given the trend toward maximalist shoes among high-mileage and heavier runners, the Clifton will be one of the summer's hottest."

Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit, Zoom Streak LT 2 at Fleet Feet

The Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit shoe unleashes your natural stride with a lightweight, supportive Flyknit upper and highly flexible, low-profile outsole. The women's version is here and the men's version will be arriving soon.

The Nike Zoom Streak LT 2 Unisex running shoe is designed for dry cross-country, road and track surfaces. A mesh upper and responsive foam midsole provide superior breathability and lightweight cushioning.

Run ... bike ... run!

Want to do Racin' the Station Duathlon? Registration for new duathlon training now open

Get Introduced to the multi-sport world with Fleet Feet's new duathlon (bike and run) training -- DUaling The Station. Registration for 2014's training program is now open and we're only able to accept the first 65 registrants. Registration can be found here
DUaling The Station training program is an 8-week program geared toward athletes who are familiar with walking/running and are exploring the multi-sport world without having to get into the water. Our goal race is Racin' the Station Duathlon, hosted by Team Rocket Tri Club, on Sept. 27.  The distances are a run pi (km), bike e^pi (km) & run pi (km). Translation? Run 1.95 miles, bike 14.3 miles and a final run of 1.95 miles.  The premise of this race is to "race" the International Space Station (ISS) as it completes one Earth orbit in 91 minutes & 12 seconds.  Pretty cool, huh?  But our goal will be to help you complete your first (or second) duathlon. The program will help you learn about pacing yourself for an endurance race of this distance, teach bike safety/form/skills, give tips and training opportunities for teaching your legs to go between the run and bike portions and much more with a team of dedicated coaches.  The program is led by a USA Triathlon Certified Coach along with assisting coaches that have various certifications, lots of experience and tons of knowledge to share..
Prerequisites: Can currently walk/run a 5k & own or have access to any bike. Must be at least 16 years of age to register.
Program Kickoff: July 31, Fleet Feet
Weekly group training: Mondays at 6 p.m. starting Aug. 4.  Locations will vary around Madison County each week. Long group bike rides will be on the following dates, in addition to the Monday night trainings,
Aug. 10 and 17 and Sept. 7, 2 p.m., Aug. 23 and 30 and Sept. 13 and 20, 7:30 a.m.
Cost:$90
