President's Message

Dear Colleagues,

I hope everyone had a good summer season and took some time to wind down.

I was fortunate to be able to attend the National Medical Association (NMA) meeting which was held in Honolulu, Hawaii last month.  It was a wonderful meeting and I'd like to congratulate Ron Baker, Leticia Bradford and Bonnie Simpson-Mason for putting together an outstanding program. We had wonderful presentations both from the orthopaedic residents and medical students who presented poster presentations on Sunday.  I was given the opportunity to help evaluate the presentations and to help select the winners of the oral presentations.  The paper award recipients were Aniebiet Udofia, Nadine Williams, and Nisha Branch.

We thank Dr. Fred Azar, the current President of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Sugeons (AAOS) for participating in the meeting and for giving an outstanding talk to our student participants and NMA Orthopaedic Section Members.  We appreciate his continued support as well as that of AAOS.

Additionally, there was wonderful group of presenters who provided some outstanding learning lectures at the meeting.

We are thankful, as always, to our primary sponsor, Zimmer, for once again supporting this educational meeting.
