Stampede Lunch

It's that time of year again and we are getting into the Stampede spirit! Every July, for 10 days, Calgary transforms itself through events all over the city to celebrate and the Women's Centre is no exception. We will be hosting our annual Stampede Lunch for the very first time in our new location. There will be hot dogs and beans, music and line dancing so come and check out our new digs and connect with friends, old and new.

We will be also collecting donations of new and unopened personal care items as our supplies are running low. Shampoo, body wash and toothpaste are our greatest need and will be much appreciated.

This is a public event and everyone is welcome. So bring your family and friends and join us on Wednesday, July 9th from 11:30am- 1:30pmPlease note: the Women's Centre will close at 5:00pm that day.

Click here for event details, or call (403) 264-1155 or email to register.

Featured Workshops & Groups
What would it be like if we looked in the mirror to see our perfections, but also to be be happy with our imperfections?  In this two-hour interactive workshop you will have the chance to connect to how you see yourself and learn specific tools for how to see yourself anew.  Find out how to love the body you're in!

Join us to learn more about discrimination and human rights from a Native perspective. We will also explore how to protect our rights and how the Alberta Human Rights Commission is here to help Albertans reduce discrimination and foster equality.

Do you feel bogged down, anxious or worried? Learn about this stress-relief technique. With Tap to Relax you tap Chinese meridian points on the face and upper body while talking about an issue that bugs you. This process can generate positive emotions and the feeling of being calm and safe. During this workshop women are invited to practice tapping on themselves. The facilitator will not perform tapping on the participants.

Build skills in identifying the foundations of being a healthy, respectful partner as well as common types of behaviour identified with partners who chose to act abusively. This workshop also teaches participants about local supports and resources that may be helpful.

All of our workshops & groups are free and open to all women.
