An ARM Update

Greetings from ARM Uganda!

Last month we had the opportunity to introduce you to our new USA Executive Director, John McCarty.  We are blessed and excited to be working with him and we will continue to let you get to know him more through our newsletter as time goes on.

This month our e-news is about the Mwangaza Children's Choir.  As we compiled the Mwangaza stories for our news this month, John had the opportunity to meet a child named Bella whose dedication and love for the choir has impacted us all.  We hope you enjoy her story as well as the other stories this month and that they continue to spur you on to love and good works. Thank you again for being a part of the ARM ministry through your prayers and financial support. We love you and are thankful for you all!

      Be blessed,

      ARM Founder & CEO
A 5 Year Old Leader
Can you think of someone who has made an indelible impression on your life? Someone who has made you stop, sit down, and think about what is important to you and more importantly what is important to God.

For us at ARM, it's a 5-year-old girl named Bella (pictured to the right with her two brothers).  After hearing the Mwangaza Children's Choir last year, Bella decided that she would give up getting gifts for her 5th birthday and instead asked for money to be given to the choir.  A year later, as she prepares to celebrate her 6th birthday, she once again asked for choir donations rather than birthday gifts.  Her heart for the children of Uganda is moving and her concern for them is overwhelming.  When she met John, our ED, she asked him if the children in Uganda had enough food to eat and if they were being cared for. She also told him that her party invitations went out late so she wasn't sure if she would make as much money ($215) for the kids this year.  But she didn't leave it there, she assured him that she was working to make up the difference by collecting money for the chores she does around her home so she could give them even more! Bella reminded us all here at ARM, that the life that Jesus asks us to live in Him is a life that includes personal sacrifice in order to make sure others are taken care of.  So we ask you again, who have you met recently that has influenced you?  What have you done for others? Please join Bella and support the children of Uganda and the Mwangaza Children's Choir, through your prayers and financial giving, as they prepare to come to the United States in January 2015.
More About Mwangaza!

USA East Coast Tour Coming 2015!
Yes, you heard right! Mwangaza Children's Choir is preparing for another USA choir tour this upcoming January through June 2015! Team 2015 includes children from 10 of ARM's Child Development Projects throughout Uganda, giving you a glimpse of the unique and diverse culture found within Uganda.  This tour will be visiting churches and organizations in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio as they share their testimonies of faith and passion for Christ with our American brothers and sisters.

As we plan and book our tour dates, make sure that you do not miss out. We are looking for churches, schools and/or organizations who may be interested in scheduling a date for hosting the choir. We are also looking for families in the tour area who are interested in providing host homes for our children and leaders to stay in during their travels.

For more of the details or to book your slot now, visit the Mwangaza Website or contact our booking manager now. To get a copy of any of the Mwangaza music CDs (so you can practice learning the songs before the choir arrives) visit iTunes, or any other music download store of your choosing.  All the proceeds from the CDs go to help cover costs of the upcoming tour. See you all in January 2015!!

Muslim to Christian to Missionary!
Meet Asia! Asia is one of ARM's sponsored children and soon to be Mwangaza Missionary during the upcoming 2015 choir tour.  Asia comes from a very strict Muslim family. When Asia was in 2nd grade (P.2), she was sponsored through ARM and was encouraged to attend Sunday School.  Her father allowed her to start attending, and two years later (in 4th grade / P.4) she confessed Jesus as her Lord and Saviour.  After her conversion, she did not go home to tell her family, but they all noticed the change in her, so much so, that her father allowed her to stop attending the mosque on Fridays with her family and rather to go to church on Sundays instead.

Asia's faith has not stopped there.  As part of Mwangaza 2015, Asia is now training to bring the good news of Christ to the East Coast as a missionary! When we asked Asia how she felt, she told us, "I am so happy that I am a Christian. Now I can talk to God freely through prayer and in words that I understand so well. I sometimes feel bad that my family members are not Christians, but I am praying for them and I believe that God will save them one day, I am also excited to share my faith with the people in America. God can use me to help others."

BE A PRAYER WARRIOR!
ARM believes 100% in the power of prayer! We would encourage you to pray for us on a monthly, weekly or daily basis as the Spirit leads you! Some of our prayer requests include:
  • Pray for our 18 kids and 6 tour leaders as they train and practice for the upcoming 2015 tour. Pray for unity among the children and their leaders, especially as these children are away from their families and friends.
  • Pray for the churches, schools and organizations that the children will be ministering to during the choir tour. That their lives would be blessed through the sharing of the Gospel and the testimony of God working through the children.
  • Pray for financial provision for the choir at this time, as the planning and preparation for a 6 month tour can be a costly adventure.
  • Pray for the families of the choir members who are separated from their children during this time of training and touring. That God will give them peace and comfort and reunite them back together in His own perfect timing.
