The STEM Education Coalition issued a statement on the STEM Education Act (H.R. 5031), a bipartisan bill developed by the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee.

One in six who earns a Ph.D. in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) pursues a career outside the field, with women and blacks most likely to do so, finds a new American Institutes for Research (AIR) analysis of what general career paths and work these Ph.D. holders take up once leaving their discipline.

Examining the Impact of Afterschool STEM Programs
Afterschool providers around the nation are offering innovative, hands-on STEM programming that not only excite and engage young people in STEM fields but also develop tangible skills and a greater knowledge of STEM careers.  This paper examines recent research findings about the importance of afterschool and other out-of-school time experiences for STEM learning.

The Brain, described by Nobel Laureates and eminent scientists as, "The most complicated structure in the Universe," now has in place a long-term scientific vision of Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies (BRAIN) Initiative.
  
Guerilla Educators
Here is another terrific Project from 6th graders at a working class, suburban Philly middle school that demonstrates STEM in action as well as anything that took place this school year.  Like the "Imagine" Project, the focus is on sustainability and the built environment.
  
STEMedia
A couple of years ago Nehemiah Mabry, an engineering grad student at NC State University, started an initiative called STEMedia. The goal is to creatively inspire students in the technical fields using media and the arts. Their message is the encouragement of passion, creativity, persistence, and excellence.
  

STEM Magazine

Wayne Carley understands that the future of the American economy rests on the success of our S.T.E.M. education efforts in schools across the nation. To help promote STEM education, he has created a monthly magazine focused on issues related to STEM.
