YOGA THRIVES AT OAK GROVE

We are so happy the women from Cloud 9 Yoga had compassion for our youth when they raised $400 for a non-profit and chose Oak Grove!  The funds will be used for health and wellness activities to support our girls including the current 21 day challenge competition. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity as well as how beautifully this blends with the coping skill of Mindfulness that our girls learn. The girls were invited to Cloud 9 and had a great time during their first yoga session off grounds. They look forward to going again soon.  A special thank you to, Amy Steckdauband who is providing training both offsite and will soon be a guest speaker at Oak Grove. We love new friends, support and role models who are willing to give back, encourage and make an impact. THANK YOU!!!

BANK OF AMERICA $10,000 GRANT!
Oak Grove is honored to have received a grant from Bank of America that will allow us to provide a hands-on apprentice style learning through Oak Grove’s new Vocational Program which focuses on teaching youth a variety of skilled trades in areas such as gardening, culinary, welding, and automotive. This training provides those interested in pursuing a college education a foundation of opportunities available, and for those not attending college, it prepares them for vocational  training necessary to pursue a living-wage profession to support self-sufficiency. Through mentoring experiences, mini internships, exposure at varied work-sites and time in the garden or shop, we are also providing opportunities for improved self-esteem, strengthened relationships, and exposure to practical experiences. This has correlated highly with success while in Oak Grove’s program, but also positive outcome following treatment! Thank You to our local Bank of America leaders for helping to make this happen for our youth!
