WHAT YOU MAY HAVE MISSED
"If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail." - B. Franklin
Well, that won't be us. City Council, Planning Commission and City staff met Tuesday for a CIP Workshop (translation: Capital Improvements Plan, further translation: plan for the big ticket items we have coming down the pike). Members of Council and the PC listened and asked questions on Department Heads' projections and timing. The revised plan will go before Planning at their June 13th meeting and Council at their June 20th meeting.

Don't be Duped
Many of us wish we had more time to give back, but often times the extra $1, $3 or $5 donation added to your tally at your local store has to suffice (and may we note...those add up and really do help!). We've received some phone calls and emails over the past few weeks with questions on donation bags being dropped off at residences to be picked up later hopefully filled with unwanted belongings such as clothes. Here's the PSA on this one: do your homework. Check into the organization and make sure its legit. From IRS scams to faux mortgage insurance and everything in between.

Because We are Awesome and Genuinely Want To Help
Yep, we totally said it. We said it because we try very hard to hear and act on your suggestions. Case in point: we regularly get asked "What company should I get to _____?" While we do not make recommendations, we worked diligently to compile a list of businesses holding an active business license in the City of Tega Cay. We hope it helps!

CSST is Back!
The Carolina Show Ski Team  is back on the water even after a rough (and we mean really rough) last couple of months. Rewind: The CSST equipment trailer was stolen filled with all of their specialized equipment needed for performances and competitions. They were forced to fund raise and scrape up enough equipment to practice regardless of the situation. Exciting news came a couple of weeks ago when the trailer was returned with much of the equipment recovered. You may have missed their first show of the season last night, but they will be at Windjammer on Fridays @ 7pm throughout the summer. It's a must-see.

Memorial Day Activities
We'd like to thank the Tega Cay Veterans Association for some really great events this past weekend. The race included almost 200 runners (including our very own Officer McHenry in full uniform) and over $12,000 raised. After expenses, this allowed for a substantial donation to Fisher House. The Memorial Day Ceremony had somewhere between 150 and 200 attendees. Needless to say, we are thankful for the TCVA and our residents' outpouring of support for our veterans!
