An electronic copy can be viewed by  visiting our website.

Congratulations to Leadership Dickson County Class of 2016 who recently graduated after finishing their year.  This year's class was the largest in the class' history with 24 participants.  As with every year, a diverse group of local business professionals from Dickson County went through the program and had a successful class project - a scholarship to a graduating senior who had participated in the Youth Leadership Dickson County program.  This year's recipient was Tell Walker who was presented a check for $1,000 at the graduation ceremony.  The class met each month from September through May and learned all about Dickson County - history, education, health care, and more.  Shane Chandler, the current LDCAA President, was coordinator of all the class days and helped make 2016 another successful year.

Dickson County Tennessee Smoke Fest 2016
On October 28th and 29th, 2016, join the Dickson County Chamber of Commerce and the Dickson County Fair Association for Dickson County's first annual Dickson County SMOKE FEST at the Dickson County Fairgrounds. This is your opportunity to be a part of an event Tennessee's Governor Bill Haslam and the Kansas City BBQ Society (KCBS) have declared a nationally sanctioned barbecue competition! In addition to BBQ, festivities include a Backyard cook-off, Kids Q cook-off, Kids Spooky Power Wheels Derby, Costume Contests, Spooky themed Demolition Derby, and many other activities throughout the event such as apple bobbing and pumpkin carving contest. There will be food and arts & crafts vendors, kid's zone, and much more. We anticipate this event will draw a great local crowd and attract visitors to our area. Sponsorship of SMOKE FEST will provide excellent advertising opportunity for your business.

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor with the opportunity to expose your business with KCBS worldwide, please contact Rhonda Adams or Joey Graves (615) 446-2349. Deadline for all sponsorship is July 1, however, sign up now and your sponsorship would equate to almost seven months of exposure for your company/business. LoRita's Open Door  and the  Dickson County Chamber of Commerce celebrated their Grand Re-Opening on Saturday, April 23rd 2016.   LoRita's Open Door is a fun, fresh second hand boutique located right off bustling main street in downtown Dickson,Tennessee. All proceeds benefit CareNet Pregnancy Medical Center.   We opened our doors in 2010 in honor of a very special lady, Mrs. LoRita Holland.  LoRita's Open Door is a completely donation based second hand boutique with the desire to provide a pleasant shopping experience for the women of our community while supporting the ministry of CareNet Pregnancy Medical Center. The store also provides the clients of CareNet with quality baby items at no charge. The clients earn items for their babies by participating in Pregnancy / Parenting classes.   After 6 years of business and ministry, it was time for some updates to the store.  After under going renovations, On April 23, 2016 we re-opened our doors and renewed our desire to engage and serve our community.  We were so honored to have some of Mrs.LoRita Holland's family join us for the special day.  You can come visit the store Monday - Thursday 10 am -3 pm at 305 S. Main Street.

In January of 2008, a small group of people got together to share the Cross Point experience and the hope of Christ with the Dickson community. Their story started years before, when Cross Point realized Nashville didn't need just another church and spent time dreaming about the kind of place they wanted to be, a place where "Everyone's welcome because nobody's perfect, and where anything's possible." After the initial launch in 2002, Cross Point became a multi-site church when they launched Cross Point Dickson in 2008.
Cross Point Dickson met at Dickson County High School for 8 years before moving into their permanent home. Cross Point Dickson is thrilled to be in their new building, adjacent to the YMCA. You also won't want to miss a very special Dollar Club with the Dickson DCS. Visit  http://www.crosspoint.tv/news/the-dollar-club-dickson-safe-room  see our partnership with the community.  Cross Point Church   joined the chamber and celebrated with a ribbon cutting last week. For more information, please contact them at 615-740-0000 or at www.crosspoint.tv .

The Waverly, Tenn., Air Evac Lifeteam base recently joined the Dickson County Chamber of Commerce. Membership Sales Manager Kristi Davis said she is excited to get to know Dickson County business leaders, and to educate Dickson County residents about Air Evac Lifeteam.

"Air Evac Lifeteam opened the Waverly base in February 2004," Davis said. "The base is one of 11 Air Evac locations in the state of Tennessee."

Air Evac Lifeteam, headquartered in O'Fallon, Mo., is the largest independently owned and operated air medical service provider in the United States, with more than 125 air medical bases across 15 states. Air Evac is the leading provider of helicopter emergency medical services to communities in need of rapid medical transport to advanced emergency healthcare.

Flight crews, consisting of a pilot, flight nurse and flight paramedic, are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to the scene of an emergency, or provide transportation between medical facilities.

Air Evac Lifeteam is part of the AirMedCare Network. AirMedCare is America's largest air medical transport membership network, providing emergency access to the highest levels of care for its 2 million subscribers. A household membership is just $65 per year. Members who are flown for a life- or limb-threatening injury or illness have no out-of-pocket expenses for the flight. Whatever the member's insurance company pays is considered payment in full.

"Dickson County Chamber members will receive a $10 discount when they purchase an Air Evac Lifeteam membership," Davis said.
