The CFHS Wind Symphony worked with Dr. Joseph Hermann, who is a leading American wind band conductor and currently Director of Bands at Professor of Music at Tennessee Technological University. He is also the current President of the American Bandmasters Association. The band also had the opportunity to serve as the rehearsal ensemble for the "Young Conductors Clinic," and guest conductors were Stephanie Williamson from Williamsburg, and Conner Tipping from Mason City.

CF Partners For Safe and Drug Free Schools
Take time this summer to talk with your kids about their experiences this school year. Did they see bullying behaviors? Did they know what to do if they observed bullying? Have a conversation about alcohol and drugs. One of the best messages you can give your children is that underage drinking is completely unacceptable. According to a survey by MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), teens whose parents communicate this message are more than 80% less likely to drink than teens who hear other messages. This isn't a one-time message but this clear family position should be repeated often in age appropriate ways. "I don't drink mostly because my parents have drilled this message into me for as long as I could remember," said one CFHS high school junior. See our  website  for more information and resources to help keep your children - our students - safe and drug free.
