Little Free Library Application for Funding
The City installed its first Little Free Library (Community Book Exchange) recently at West Hollywood Elementary School.
 If you are a West Hollywood Resident and are interested in installing and hosting a Little Free Library on your property, then you may be eligible to receive funds to cover the cost. Click here for more info.

Stuart Timmons LGBTQ History Tour

A LGBTQ History tour of West Holywood will be staged with a cast of colorful characters from different eras stationed along the route. The tour starts from the loading zone at West Hollywood Park on San Vicente Boulevard. Tour groups will leave every 15 minutes from 11 am to 2 pm. For more info visit weho.org/pride.

Paul Getty Museum curator Paul Martineau, fine arts photographer Catherine Opie, LACMA curator Britt Salvesen, and painter and Yale art historian Jonathan Weinberg visit Zócalo to discuss how Mapplethorpe continues to teach us, even now, a quarter century after his untimely death at age 42. Gates will open at 6 p.m. and the Dyke March, itself, will begin at 7:30 p.m.; participants will march from the Festival grounds along Santa Monica Boulevard and back. The LA Pride Festival will be free and open to the public until 1 a.m.

The LA Pride Festival is produced by Christopher Street West (CSW) and features performances by Carly Rae Jepsen, Charli XCX, DJs Krewella, Faith Evans, Big Freedia and more. Visit  www.lapride.org for a full line-up of entertainment and to purchase tickets.

Parade: 
The parade will begin at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 12, along Santa Monica Blvd. and will feature a special art project created by artist Ruben Esparza of Queer Biennial II.

Human Rights Speaker Series: Exploring LGBT Rights in China and Abroad

The   Los Angeles LGBT Center   announces its 18th annual  Trans Pride L.A. festival, a two-day event celebrating the vibrancy and uniqueness of the trans and genderqueer community in and around Los Angeles. On Friday, there will be a panel discussion at 7pm and a reception at 9pm. REACH LA: Dancing in the Streets

REACH LA is a service organization that outreaches to disadvantaged youth of color through the ball community, and have performed at MOCA and for various One City One Pride events over the years. Tapping into their talented pool of performers, West Hollywood will come alive with unexpected dance performances and interventions. For instance, two men at a picnic table playing chess, will suddenly break into a choreographed vogue dance-off. Other performances will take place in various parts of the park and sidewalk. I Stand Corrected, 
the story of Jennifer Leitham's public transition from being known as John Leitham while on tour with Doc Severinson. A Q&A with director Andrea Meyerson follows the screening.  Immediately after the film and Q&A, Jennifer Leitham will kick off the City's 2016 Summer Sounds Concert Series with a free concert in the brand - new City Hall Community Plaza located directly behind City Hall. 2016-2018 City Poet Nominations
The City of West Hollywood, through WeHo Arts, is accepting nominations to the West Hollywood City Poet program. The West Hollywood City Poet serves as the official ambassador of West Hollywood's vibrant literary culture, using the position as a platform from which to promote the literary arts in West Hollywood, the transformative qualities of poetry, and the written word throughout all parts of the community.

CMG Short Film Fest Call for Entries
Now in its fifth year, the CMG Short Film Festival is seeking short films that are LGBT-themed or have a connection to AIDS Walk or HIV/AIDS. FIlms must be under 30 minutes.
