Coming Your Way
Check your inbox next Tuesday, June 7 for the Community Survey on Pedestrian Safety and Traffic Calming.

As part of its ongoing effort to understand and develop potential solutions that address pedestrian safety and traffic calming concerns in Glenmore, the Pedestrian Safety and Traffic Calming Task-force has designed a survey.  Please check your inbox on June 7th and share your thoughts on this important issue.

The survey should take about 10-15 minutes to complete depending on the extent of your comments and commentary.

You Asked...

Each month we receive questions from residents on various topics and are committed to providing the information requested promptly and factually. This section will be dedicated to providing answers to some of those questions that many of you are wondering about.
Trash Talk

Question:  What are the guidelines for setting out and picking up trash bins?  With two pickup days per week, it seems that bins are out all the time.

Answer:  We contacted County Waste to ask if it were possible for both the recycle and regular bins to be picked up on the same day.  It is not.  We next asked if we could have a later start time thinking that would allow for bins to be placed at the street on the same day as the pickup.  They cannot.  So we revert to the guidelines as they stand:

"Trash containers shall be placed at the street side on a regular basis no earlier than 6PM on the day before pick-up, and shall be removed as soon as possible after collection."

Being good neighbors will also contribute to a more aesthetic neighborhood.  When a bin is left out for a prolonged period of time, it is most likely due to a baseball game that went into extra innings, missing a flight, or an illness, so please let’s help a neighbor out and take the bin to the garage for them.  When out of town, many residents arrange for a neighbor to bring their bin in.
Building Bridges
GCA and GCC representatives met this month with Red Dirt Development (RDD), the developer responsible for the design and construction of the Carroll Creek replacement bridge. The project continues to move forward.
RDD is currently finalizing design and has issued its fourth submission to the County for review and approval. RDD anticipates having all approvals by mid July. Permitting is complete. Additionally, RDD indicated that the bond for the project should be in place by early June.

Construction kick-off is anticipated for September, and construction completion is planned for the end of the year, or soon there after.
The project will require a significant amount of dirt to be hauled from the area indicated as the Preserves Residences to the construction site via Carroll Creek Road.  This dirt will be used to build the earthen dam. The GCA is working with RDD to understand and plan for any potential closures, outages, and safety concerns prior to construction kick-off. This information will be communicated to the GCA community once available.
