GSNC 2015 Virginia Beach

You Came, You Saw,..You Went Green

Students at the GSNC2015 Student Summit

If you attended our 5th annual Green Schools National Conference, you certainly left Virginia Beach with the information, success strategies, and resources needed to green your school. If you didn't attend (we're sure you had a good reason!), we've posted our GSNC2015 photo album. Take a look at what you missed -- and make plans to join us next time!

 Many Thanks to

our Green "Dream Team"

Another Green Schools National Conference has come and gone, but the enthusiasm and energy remain.

Our fifth annual event was a true team effort, thanks to the many partners who helped make our time in Virginia Beach a remarkable gathering. Top of the list is the GSNN staff, which worked for months to lay the groundwork for the event. They are the GSNN brain trust, and those brains were firing on all cylinders, believe me!

Nature's Voices Project Winner Wows 'em at   GSNC

The Nature's Voices Project received dozens of fantastic essays for its 2015 Student Stories Contest, held in conjunction with GSNN. The Grand Prize -- which included a free trip to the Green Schools National Conference -- went to Anna-Bell Hines of New Orleans (shown here with NVP's Susan Silber), whose story about being a youth ambassador for the Louisiana Green Building Council took top honors. Anna-Bell shared her experiences at the GSNC Opening Session last month, and we're pleased to share it here as well.

Making Sense

" Why Sustainability Makes Good Economic Sense " appeared in the March 2015 issue of School Business Affairs
magazine and outlines the green path taken by Virginia Beach City Public Schools and the resulting financial benefits.
