Principal's Message

Here we are at the end of the school year!  It was truly a pleasure to start and finish a school year here at Aston Elementary School !

I would like to take this opportunity to wish our 5th graders much success and happiness as they travel on to the middle school.  They will be greatly missed, but we know they are well prepared for the next chapter of their education.

I would also like to wish everyone a safe and happy summer!  Enjoy the time with your families.  Please encourage your children to read, take reading counts quizzes, write in a journal about summer trips or experiences, and utilize first in math. It will be up and running through July, so please encourage your children to use this website as well!   (firstinmath.com)

See you in September!

A special thanks to our Physical Education Teacher Sandy Johnston for all her hard work in setting up and organizing our Field Day.  Thank you also to our staff and parent volunteers who helped make our event successful and fun.

Drama Club

Twenty fourth grade students participated in an eight week Drama Club held after school. Each week, they pretended to be various characters in familiar stories, mimed numerous activities, and improvised parts in skits. Needless to say, these creative youngsters expressed themselves in ways they never knew they could. It was SO much fun. Mrs. Leiser hopes they continue to participate in drama for years to come!

ASTON KIDS CARE CLUB - CASH FOR COWS - YARD SALE

Aston Kids Care Club held a Yard Sale to raise money for Heifer International.  Heifer International's mission is to work with communities to end world hunger and poverty and to care for the Earth.   It has helped millions of families around the world become more self-reliant through the gift of livestock and training.   Thanks to the donated items given by Aston families the Kids Care Club was able to raise $375.30, all of which will be donated to Heifer International.  Way to go Aston!

B.M.X. BICYCLE DEMONSTRATION

Aston students were treated to a B.M.X. bicycle demonstration by some very talented bicycle riders. Students enjoyed watching as riders did air stunts and flips on the bikes.  It was a fun, fast paced, exciting show.

Classroom News

Mrs. McPhillips Fourth Grade Class had fun, and used a lot of            imagination, completing a Book Report Project made out of cereal boxes.  A good and inventive way of making book reports enjoyable!

New Electronic Community Bulletin Board

Beginning Thursday, October 1, community flyers will go paperless for Penn-Delco.
In our continuing efforts to go paperless, improve efficiency, and extend our outreach to the Aston, Brookhaven, and Parkside communities, Penn-Delco has created an electronic Community Bulletin Board on the district website located under the "Community" tab.

The bulletin board will replace the distribution of hard copy flyers in the schools and is intended for use by our community public and non-profit organizations to provide families with information about upcoming events and opportunities in the community. Penn-Delco School District will not post information from for-profit organizations on its website.

This webpage will be accessible to the public at large via links on each school's webpage as well as the district's main webpage.

Requests for flyer distribution will still be submitted to the Asst. Superintendent's office for approval.

The Guidelines for Submitting Postings to the Penn-Delco Website Community Bulletin Board are posted on the district website under the Community tab.
